  1. Yes, we provided Mothers Birth Certificate and her two name change certificates, didn't see any reason not to provide it. I'm not resident in Thailand so didn't provide anything with my name and address on. With your point 11, where it says "a link to the parent applying", in our case, even though we are married, we don't live together, but Mother and Child do, so the parent applying was the Mother because they live together in Thailand. Only one parent applies. If you aren't married, but live together, I guess the Mother still needs to apply (and know someone who can countersignature)? If you are married and live at the same address as the child then as the father you can apply for them, but would need to provide something with same address as your child. From the application form: From the guidance document:
  2. Yes, I am born before 1983 too and didn't provide my parents birth certificates. My wife is born after 1983. For 11. you can provide copies (and translations) of mothers page and childs page of the Blue House Book. Address is also on I.D. cards as well but I included blue book to be sure. We also included Marriage Certificate and translation (both sides) and mother change of name certificates (she had two, one from when her mother divorced and one from marriage to me). Provide colour copies of documents, don't need to send off originals but VFS check all the originals against the copies. No problems with our son being issued his British passport!
  3. No, there is no need to print out all your evidence/supporting documents if you have uploaded it all.
  4. Oh just remembered I also uploaded copies of my parents UK passports to "Other", just to evidence us saying they have visited my wife & son in Thailand five times with me.
  5. I've done it recently (September 2024) and I uploaded as follows for my wife's application: Financial Evidence - Wife's Thai bank account statement Other - Wife's covering letter - Wife & Son's Thai passports - Letter from son's Thai school (and translation) - Wife's & son's Thai ID cards (and translation) - Son's UK Passport - Copies of House Registration entries for Wife's family (and translation) Life Events - Wife's & Son's Birth Certificates (and translation) - Marriage Certificate (and translation) - 2x Wife's Name Change (and translation) Sponsors /Employment - Invitation Letter from me - My passport (full colour copy) - My bank and mortgage statements - Details of my UK business (Company Registration docs, bank account) - Log of money transfers to wife and my Thai bank account By the way, I am resident in UK, wife & son are resident in Thailand, only travelled outside to Hong Kong once. She doesn't work and both are supported by me. 6 month Visit visa granted.
