  1. You can cut off the peel and use them in a curry. Here are more ideas. https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/food-news/easy-green-banana-recipes-you-can-try-at-home/photostory/80214366.cms?picid=80214368
  2. I haven't seen anything about stating asymptomatic in the policies but surely the 30 day no pay / which says it all. I've been thinking about contacting the German embassy in BKK as the representative of me and my country. How can I be forced to sign up for a deal that leaves me uninsured...? Yeah, maybe wishful thinking, However, I will let them know what I think about this and *just maybe* we all should do so. After all, what's the use of complaining here....and not speak up where it needs to be heard?
  3. That's what most (all?) Thai insurance companies state that are 'recommendedly forced on you'. (STV, O-A, etc.) I have clicked my way through all the insurances on that longstay page. https://longstay.tgia.org/companiesstv And here is the result: aetna: to get a quote> can't put in my phone number because it allows only Thai numbers and all the regions are in Thailand Muang Thai Insurance> 30 day waiting period --> not covered Falcon insurance> will not pay for the first 30 days --> not covered Dhipaya> page error Axa>not covered for the first 30 days Thai Setakij> not covered for the first 30 days Bangkok Insurance> not covered for the first 30 days Sompo> page is missing Navakij> O-A visa Viriyah> accident & health insurance, no Covid-plan Pacific Cross> O-X and O-A, for people over 50 LMG> O-A visa Thai Health Insurance> O-A visa Southeast Company> page not found
  4. I have clicked my way through all the insurances on that page. I'm applying for STV. https://longstay.tgia.org/companiesstv And here is the result: aetna: to get a quote> can't put in my phone number because it allows only Thai numbers and all the regions are in Thailand Muang Thai Insurance> 30 day waiting period --> not covered Falcon insurance> will not pay for the first 30 days --> not covered Dhipaya> page error Axa>not covered for the first 30 days Thai Setakij> not covered for the first 30 days Bangkok Insurance> not covered for the first 30 days Sompo> page is missing Navakij> O-A visa Viriyah> accident & health insurance, no Covid-plan Pacific Cross> O-X and O-A, for people over 50 LMG> O-A visa Thai Health Insurance> O-A visa Southeast Company> page not found So, what shall I choose to not be insured but pay a hefty price??? I have contacted the consulate but their policy seems to be 'stalling' me. Just no answer, and I'll have to comply or trash my visa application and all the rest. Maybe this is interesting for some of you out there trying to obtain a STV (in Germany specifically).
  5. BTW: The insurance I purchased states all the recommended things / Covid cover, overall cover way beyond requirements and insurance period for Thailand specifically... just nuts that they refuse it
  6. Thanks everyone. I tried Axa last week but their website was down. Now, it's back up so I will try that. All the best!
  7. I have decided to escalate the issue. I feel that I'm faced with ordinary "I do my job employees" , so I have reported my complaints to the next level, asking for escalation. Let's see what it brings. However, I have asked to be in communication with the consul (done that). I'm so fed up and they have a job to do!!!
  8. @dan O thanks for answering.... Yes, they are shy with taxes ... which leaves me ... oh well.............
  9. The consulate in Frankfurt won't accept international insurances and now force me to find a Thai insurance for the STV. (Unfortunately, I'm still below 50. / Believe me, I can't wait for that day!!!) Now, all the insurances they give you to choose from are either "page not found" or similar or they don't offer a package for STV but just Non-O/A and without mentioning Covid-19 at all. I had purchased a package with Allianz that had it all (Covid, more than the required inpatient/outaptient coverage) but they would not accept it. Idiocy.... I also have the impression that this is a German thing because on other Thai consulate websites in other countries it simply says insurance whereas they demand a Thai insurance on the German website and via email. Going in circles ... Honestly, without this forum I'd be completely at my wit's end ... Has anyone who has done the STV-thing any advice for me, please? Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.
  10. I've been thinking about asking my landlady to change my rental contract into a leasing contract. Just what exactly is the difference? In Thai it is the same word... Any ideas are welcome.
  11. @ubonjoe Thanks for your reply. I'm applying in Frankfurt and they are super picky. But it says on your embassy's website hotel tax ID number as well...
  12. For my STV I need a receipt for fully paid accommodation with property's tax number. (That I've been renting a house in Thailand for many years does not count....????) So, I need a hotel booking that I'm - of course - going to cancel ... Does anyone know if I can get such a receipt with tax number on booking.com or any other website? As far as I know, there is only a booking confirmation and I reckon that won't be enough. So, your advice is once more very much appreciated. Cheers
  13. @JaymathesonThank you so much!!!! I would never have found it. Good luck & all the best to you!
  14. Hello everyone, your help is very much appreciated. I've been trying to find out how to apply for the STV on the e-visa website for about a week now and haven't found any information. Trouble is that there is no such thing as STV when you select your visa type. There is just the normal TR, single and multiple entry. Unfortunately, the consulates and embassy here in Germany neither answer the phone nor do they reply to my emails. And there is now no way to apply in person or via post... What am I missing here??? It's quite frustrating to fail even at the first step. Thank you all!
