  1. Can anyone who has collected their Wealthy Retirement Visa from One Stop BOI in Bangkok kindly explain what happens at the appointment and how long it takes on the day - is it like an hour or several? And do you really need a proper shirt and trousers! Secondly, did anyone NOT collect it within the 60 days ? - does the whole process start all over again? Must say, for a visa system everything worked incredibly smoothly - if you qualify for it, I think its by far the best option!
  2. Any recent data points on Wealthy Pensioner LTR visa? How long is the Step 4 "Status:Consideration by Govt Agencies (20 Working Days)" is actually taking? In earlier steps they already checked and confirmed income and asked for relevant documents. For this pensioner category seems there is little else to check apart from the fact that you are 50+ - is it actually taking 20 working days or more?
  3. Thanks richard_smith. That seems fair enough. In England one would be liable for the entire remaining term unless the landlord found a new tenant and is agreeable to a reduction. If one can walk away without further liability that gives peace of mind.
  4. Hi, Can anyone advise what is the practical consequence of terminating a 12 month condo rental after, say 6 months? Is it limited to losing your deposit? The question is re Pattaya incase it matters. I have also read conflicting information about how many months' deposit a landlord can ask for. Some newish legislation suggests that its maximum of 1 month - and the tenant can give 30 days' notice at any time. But I regularly see ads asking for 2 months' deposit. Joe
