Just scrap that ridiculous so-called 'Test-and-go' which is a misleading term. The hotel quarantine and tests are ridiculously expensive.
I believe there is no quarantine for even one day in Philippines and Cambodia for fully-vaccinated tourists.
Can somebody confirm this?
Test and go in Cambodia, rapid test at the airport.

This is an advertisement for insurance, not an "article". Most people are not being sent to private hospitals, hardly any are. If they have mild symptoms, or are asymptomatic, they are moved to a quarantine hotel, the cost of which are quite reasonable. There are a few horror stories floating around, yes. But overall people are overwhelmingly just confined to a hotel where they are basically free to mingle around inside.

Yeah. Modus operandi; People just go to Thailand and make up stories about being raped and robbed. Makes a load of sense.

Bikes produced solely for the Asian market are built to a price, especially the small ones. They are normally made for city and village dwellers that never get onto expressways. There are exceptions.
Sporty bikes in the 150 range are built for 50-65kg riders. They have flashy designs which mimic their big brothers, horrid brakes, awful suspension, and anemic power aimed at extracting every satang out of the tank. DELETED
I have ridden/purchased more than a dozen bikes in the past few decades in SEA, each and every time I cringe at the time of payment, knowing full well that the same bike could be purchased far cheaper back on the states. You won't find better value in TH.
Lots of nice bikes and decent values in the 250/300-500/650 range produced in TH available in TH. But, even Japanese brand bikes made in TH and shipped to the USA sell for 20-30% more in TH. And it's not because of tax, anymore. We have tax in the USA as well.

I can't imagine what could possibly go wrong. Thais' are universally sweet, warm, selfless, caring people. Also, they have the benefit of having their benevolent ruler, "in their hearts". We will never be able to understand their ways, since we ourselves are not Thai.

Do you not find great irony in the fact that what you are doing is not proper Buddhist behavior?

Divided almost 50/50. ~50% being, of course, dead wrong. Very dangerous place. Talking up a stock just because you've bought shares doesn't mean it's a good one. Pull your head out of the hedonous sands long enough and you will notice that they get medals for committing crimes against foreigners. Tough to compete with the propaganda machine that's foucsing its energies teaching disciples that foreigners are stupid and immoral. But the machine damn sure wants your money.

Sorry to hijack this thread, but what about the best way to clean your visor? Please don't say a mixture of water and vinegar. If you have a half decent helmet or you really like the cheap and dangerous one so many wear here, try www.ThaiAntinoc.co.th -- they re-line helmets at a very reasonable cost. They are situated in Bangkok and offer a return by post service. As an example, they replaced the linings in our two Roof helmets and they only took two days to do it -- one of the days being a sunday.
They are also stockists ( if not the manufacturers ) of Stars Helmets who have a range of more than 50 types of helmet.
Remove the visor and wash it by hand using dish washing soap. Shake it off and let it drip dry. No paper towels.

A helmet with a removable liner is compulsory in the SEA climate. To clean your removable liner I recommend throwing it in the washer with a bit of vinegar and baking soda, as well as detergent. Hand washing just won't cut it. In between washing a 50/50 mix of vinegar and water sprayed into your helmet will help to quell odors. Just be sure and let the vinegar dry completely before you wear it. All the vinegar smell will dissipate once dry.

Because of certain rules of this forum, I'm not able to give you a more broad answer. What many people deem as the truth, they ain't havin' 'round these parts. Fair enough, I say, your forum not mine.
But just don't do it man. Concerning taking animals out of their natural habitat, I've seen the few (relative) successes, and they don't look like success to me. The failures are epic, note worthy, and supreme. The sense of wonder that you have while in TH completely morphs into something else when you try to remove it.
Maybe you could do a reverse on your perspective? Get a degree/certification/profession, if you don't already have one. Move to Thailand. Lower your expectations. Consume mass quantities of alcohol to lower your IQ. Buy some flip-flops, muscle shirts, and get a few bad tats so you look like a hobo. You have a much better chance of acclimating here, in TH, than there.
As an alternative, you can find fulfilling work in your home country. Spend quality time with like-minded people. Develop a following or group of friends, employees, customers, loved-ones, etc. Maybe even find a local girl to court, breed, marry, and subsequently divorce. Twice. Then after building this life, income, and lineage, you will find yourself with a small amount of extra income; if you've spent/saved wisely. At this point it's time to embark on what you normal westerners call "vacation". Ah, vacation. I remember those. It's when you set aside realities and set out for wild times of wonderment, fornication, and random acts of debauchery. These normally last one-two weeks. And then one goes back to their normal, productive lives.
During this time you will taste the fruits of what Thailand, or whatever country filled with less fortunate people you choose to visit. And the fruit will be fresh, ripe, and always in season. Stay past the two week window, and the fruit WILL spoil. Many try to stockpile this fruit, hoping to have it ferment into an elixir that may bring back the original glory of those first few weeks. But, alas, it never happens. Once you lose your tourist badge, the locals see you in a different light. Where once they filled your basket with pineapple, dragon fruit, and berries, it suddenly becomes durian and rock fruit. Stay a tourist. Their fruit is much sweeter.
You see, that's what Thailand is designed for. That's why all these tourism awards are bestowed upon them. That's what this government (?) wants. Tourists.
Back to the question. Just don't do it.

100%. Absolutely. You gotta watch the apologist on this board. 'Misery loves company.'
-
Cut communication, go back to your country, use that degree. Treat it as a lesson. This is no country to find love in. Not many happy relationships to be found here in the short time that I've been here.
Oh, and stop making payments on your "girlfriend". See how long she stays around then. Go home man.
-
"What is a good choice for a girlfriend car in Thailand?"
I like the pink, yellow, red, blue and green cars that are running around everywhere. And they start at 35 baht! Seriously man.
-
"Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!"
-
"if a Thai girl who isn't a bar girl accepts money for sex...."
Then she's a prostitute.
All the silly use of semantics in this thread is proof that if you stay Thailand long enough, it can make you stupid.

Wow. The thought of medical insurance required to obtain a visa. Moronic at best.

Funny how no one seems to have picked up on the "lady market" comment. She wasn't talking about a place where ladies shop, more likely a place where they're sold.
I would wager that if you asked westerners, that have never even been to Asia, to name the top 5 things that come to mind regarding Thailand that prostitution and counterfeit goods would be in there more often than not.
I guess we are supposed to ignore those things that are shoved down our throats, and prostrate ourselves before the miracle that is Thailand. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain.
I do believe that the mention of 'lady market' is a reference to a market in Hong Kong that sells items that are preferred by ............er, ladies.
She was in HK earlier this month, so maybe that is a clue!!
Ah, no. If you'll go back and read the original tweet, which this whole thread is based on, you will see that she was most definitely referring to BKK. And as for the hockey about "items preferred by......er, ladies", not sure about your command of English but I believe that by saying "lady market" she was refering to a place where ladies are sold. Like a fish market. Don't be thick. But thanks for proving my original point.

Be carful AsianAdvisor, the truth won't be tolerated around this place for long.
True, the guy was getting out of line, but this is clearly abuse. The rent-a-cop should not use his baton unless he, or someone else, is being attacked. He should lose is job and be fined and imprisoned. Sad that so many foreigners support this blatant abuse.

There is. It's called Pattaya.

Never seen so many sock puppets in a single thread. Now I know where all the good farang hang out. Comical.

He seems very well spoken to me. His arguments and points do have merit. Not all of the leaders are in their homes, more than one is still at/nearby the protest site.
Unfortunately, for the reds, the propaganda machine designed to meld the minds of the locals works especially well on most foreigners living here.

Aaaahhh the good old triad rears it's stupid head; ignorance, narcissism, and racism, all in one poisonous cocktail. Amazing Thailand.
