    The date is confusing.

But right next to the "Issue Date" is the "Expiry Date" and that is the one that is important. And it's in Thai and English so it shouldn't be hard to read.

It seems the "Issue Date" is the date of issue of your last (valid) 5 year license.

My 2nd license (first 5 year) expired in Apr 2018 but for various reasons, I wasn't able to get to the DLT to renew it until Jan 2019.

That one expired in Apr 2024. I renewed it at the beginning of April and my new license says "Issue Date: Jan 2019" (and "Expiry Date: Apr 2029").

I thought they'd made a mistake and only given me a license that expired in 3 weeks but then I saw it expired in 2029 so I took off my socks and started counting and realized the license was good for 5 more years (and 3 weeks) so I put my socks back on and was on my way.

Not sure why they don't change the Issue Date to the day the new license was issued.

Yes, you really have to remember when you last renewed it, rather than worry about "Why did they give me a license for 22 years?"

    😂

The license expires on you birthday. When you get a new one it is valid for 5 years from your next birthday.

If you renew a few days your birthday you'll only get 5 years but renewing a few days after you will get almost 6 years.

And you must be on a permission of stay that is 90 days or longer such as a Non-O, B, ED Visa or Extension of stay for marriage or retirement.

If on a tourist visa or visa exempt entry you will only be able to get a 2 year provisional license. Even if you have already had, or have, a 5 year license.

When you get a new license the issue date will not be the date you got the new one. The issue date will be the date of your FIRST license. My license expires in 2027 and the issue date is 2005.

Thanks, Joe. Nice to know someone else has the same long duration! 👍

Do not delay on this, it is considered an ocular emergency as there is a risk of the dislocated lens damaging the eye.

Both repair of a dislocated IOL and cataract surgery are usually done under local anesthesia in Thailand. It used to be the same in the US and still often is, but with the advent of very effective and comparatively safe   short-acting IV sedation (e.g. propofol), that is often also provided in US. This is not actually general anesthesia, rather what is termed "conscious sedation", the patient is deeply sedated but rousable to strong stimuli. However  there is no memory of the procedure afterwards.  (propofol can also be used in combination with anesthetic gases for true general anesthesia but that would to have been done for a cataract surgery).

If you feel strongly about it, you can request IV sedation for the repair, but it will add to the cost. The procedure without it won't hurt, but of course can be anxiety-provoking to go through. Up to you -- but as mentioned, do not delay.

I didn't realise a "dislocated IOL" was a thing! Occasionally, when I look up and to the right I think I see something dark, but not sure.

I'm having a checkup soon so will tell them.

    Thanks.

There are lots of members here have the BYD Seal, you could ask their opinion in the BYD Seal Helps & Tricks forum.

I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks for the info. I'll have a look at that forum next. 👍

Did you mean to follow it more closely or not to follow it more closely?

Sorry, I meant I should follow it more closely. I am actually thinking of buying a BYD Seal but the battery problems, if they exist, are making me consider something more like my avatar.

Yeah, there's still outages late evening I find. I've switched to watching snooker on BBC 2. Eurosport is total crap.

I think it's ImperfectTV that is total cr*p.

I tend to watch YouTube repeats the following day. Why is YouTube perfect and Perfect is garbage?

Try again? What? It's just a <deleted> fake mouse.

Buy it and in some month you will learn the different.

I bought it too before. You have a red light under the mouse and the real one have a unvisible light under the mouse.

But up to you!!! If you want a fake, buy a fake!!!

Interesting: I have no red light. Maybe your fake one was a real fake one and mine is a fake fake one.

Be sure I will let you know if it stops working in the next month or year or so.

Two questions; Are you using Windows? And have you tried adjusting the mouse settings?

    By adjusting the mouse I mean;

    1. Open Settings:
    2. Windows key + I (shortcut)
    3. Go to "Devices"
    4. Select "Mouse"
    5. Then try the several mouse options available (mouse speed, troubleshoot, etc).

Or, go to your local computer shop and ask them to have a look! 😁

Yes, I have 2 of them I also changed the USB port, but nothing seems to work.

Well I can only suggest you try another one - the one that I wrote about - the Logitech 221 and maybe try a different USB port.
