  1. What takes 3 days to download? how big is the file? have you set up utorrent using the speed guide in options? also have you forwarded you ports (also in speed guide at the bottom) you can tell if your ports are forwarded with the little icon at the bottom of utorrents main screen it should be a green tick, anything else could mean a problem (clicking on it will help you sort it out)

  2. Where are you getting your torrents from? it seem that there arn't any peers to the torrent you are tring to download (although this is usualy represented by a red arrow on the left on utorrent!) try isohunt and pick a torrent with alot of peers and see if that works [LOOK FOR SOMETHING WITH A LOT OF] peers just try to download that for half a hour and see waht happens. I downloaded this yeaterday at 80Kbs in 1h20m. report what happens.

  3. You need to set utorrent as your default torrent client, go into options-preferences-general then in windows intergration click associate with torrent files! You can also check "the association on start up" box. This should do it. You can also add torrents manually by copying there URL address from the torrent site then clicking the little globe with the plus sign (add torrent from URL) at the top of utorrent and pasting the URL address in. Hope this helps.

  4. I had this problem once, what version of Nero are you using? solved mine by removing then re-installing this worked, alternativly try a diffrent program the burn like alcohol or dvddecrypter (still avalable do a google search)

  5. Can't really say too much as not allowed due to forum rules but i use utorrent which uses a amazingly small amount of cpu and has most of the features i need. Isohunt and the pirate bay are my best torrent sites.

hope this info isnt breaking any rules.

  6. Hiya,

Never built my own house so don't really have a clue but i am thinking about it, have a look HERE for a rough idea also you may get a better response from the real estate forum thats where the link came from and those guys seem to be the experts (been there done that kinda thing)

    regards

  7. Hi

I asked at MBK about 2 weeks ago and was given a price of 14000bt at about 4 stores they all seem to be the same price. There is another store near victory monument BST stop called gcorners and the bloke is very helpfull and speaks really good English his link is:

    gcorners

His price is 14500 for a package but sure if you talk to him he might do the xbox alone cheaper.

    regards

  8. If you want to make a few quid while on your trip back home you could always look into taking a Playstation 3 (even a couple) with you sure the initial outlay is fairly large but you will defiantly make a killing back in UK they are not available until March (if then) you could easily make a few hundred quid. And not as dodgy as other things that have been suggested (MBK PS3's around 300 quid when they do go on sale in UK starting price 400!)

  9. Hiya,

Just an update. Went to immigration(BKK) this morning and received my extention no problem. :o Just 500bt fine for one day overstay but thats ok i'll remember not to let my visa run out next time...

    For info Bangkok immigration opening hours Mon - Fri 08:30 - 16:30 Sat 08:30 - 12:00

And not sure if Monday the 19th is a national public holiday either this forum is the only place reporting this info, I check with BCC who seem fairly reliable Thai commercial holidays

    Thanks for the help

    Regards

  10. Branston Pickle, Monster Munch, Wheat Crunchies, Skips, Double Decker, Aero, Topic, 10p Chomps,

Branston Pickle is available here but very expensive 290 baht for a small jar.

Monster Munch: I love them too. Pringles just don't match-up.

Double Decker: I am 99% sure they have been discontinued in the U.K.

When I come back to L.O.S. from the U.K. I always bring 8 bisto gravy granules and chicken granules and tea bags. They are all not so dense.

I would bring plastic squeezy HP sauce and Heinz salad cream but they are too dense. Available here for 109 baht per small bottle, over double U.K. price.

Above all, I would like to see U.K. newspapers at a reasonable price. 200 baht for a daily newspaper is 3 quid, a very high mark-up, in this day and age and technology, it should be available for UK price X 2.

Where can you get Branston Pickle from? You can get Monster Munch at Tops Silom Complex.

  11. Hello everybody!

Been reading the forum and I'm heeding the advise. I'm gonna go for my tourist visa in KL this weekend on second VOA at the moment and don't wanna risk hitting the mayhem in January. I'm just wondering if anyone has latest information on the KL embassy, which visa agency to use and how long it will take to get a tourist visa. Thanks in advance. I know this info could be buried here somewhere already, but can't seem to find it.

  12. I'm just lazy! In Britain I just buy ready made custard either in can or carton, warm it up and you're ready to go...

So do I, that Ambrosia Devon Custard is great on apple pie :o

That's the type I like too... Yummy!!!

Available at Villa ( in nov when i was last there).

You can now get Birds' custard powder (instant and traditional) at Tops Silom Complex at 145 baht for the traditional one.

  13. Just read the back of a Savepak packet of sliced bacon:

    Fully cooked

    Just heat and eat.

Place in pan of boiling water, turn off the heat.

    Wait 3-7 minutes

If you COOK it properly its not too bad though clearly the company don't want to tell you whether it is smoked or greenback.

Anyone now how to get the super rich boss of the very large CP sit down and eat a bit of his nice warm wet bits of stuff?

    Roger in Surin

No wonder it is always that rubbery crap in the restaraunts. I make my own bacon when I start missing it. After two misshaps I have learned to put my name on the bag. People kept throwing it in thai food thinking it was pork. The confusion was quite funny when their pork wouldn't brown and just stayed a nice pink. I would have been a lot funnier if I didn't have to wait again for more to cure.

We've found English back bacon at the Siam Paragon Gourmet Market. It's very cheap. just a few baht more expensive than the streaky bacon you normally find in supermarkets.
