  1. Blah blah blah, blah blah blah....

    Boring!!!

Successful business operations expect the senior executives to be prepared and to know the subject at hand. Anyone that has attended "management" meetings knows how tedious they can be when a couple of the entrenched execs just talk in circles or defer to an underling. The PM is making the ministers work and that's a good thing.

The former PM Abhisit never had a job outside of government so he never had real world experience. Government meetings can drag on for hours where nothing gets done. In the successful segments of the private sector, time is treated as a valuable resource and is not wasted on "meetings". This PM doesn't have time to waste on activities that accomplish nothing. This is a good change to see.

  2. "On the day the government delivered its policy last week, a group of red shirts assaulted two students who put a wreath in front of the Parliament."

Two students? Can't this media group just be honest and give the correct description of two middle-aged men?

Yes, I agree with you on this point

BUT, it does not change the fact that they were beaten because they wanted to voice their opinion....

Beaten? I do not recall anywhere in the media where the word "beaten" was used. Please enlighten me.

would "roughed" sound better to you?

Playing with words seems to be a fun game, huh !!

  3. The deputy prime minister shared with the media his personal opinion on important qualities a national police chief should have.

Among them, Chalerm listed honesty, extensive experience in crime suppression and ability to exert his authority.

Where he wants to find somebody fitting that job describtion? :ermm:

Well, definitely not in the one who handled his son's case ....

    Poor Thailand....

I feel already that some relative of Thaksin is going to have a new job very soon....

  5. What? There was a petition that circulated a few weeks ago, against dog meat trade, and not one has started yet for this really important matter???

    Wow, that says a lot!

This intimidation are only the begining. We all know how reds make their point, and how they act when then don't get what they want. As Whybother would say: yay for red democracy!!!

  6. Gk, you keep on refering to her previous high position job! Every one knows why she got this position, what she was doing, and how quick this position has been scrapped as soon as the new owner took over. Bottom line is: she has NO experience, even not the one you wish she has....

Did you know that the majority of businesses in Thailand, just as in the "west" are family businesses? Ask people that have worked in their family business if they had it easy. It doesn't matter how big or prosperous that business is, family members almost always are expected to work harder than the other employees. They are on call 24/7 and the principal expects more from those family workers. It is obvious that some of you never worked in a family business, otherwise you wouldn't be so condescending and dismissive. Go on and talk to some people that worked in the family business.

How can you say she had no experience? Do you know what her job was and what she did on a daily business? You have no idea, and yet you make this ignorant comment.

What a load of craps!!! How does this comment about family business connect in any way with Yingluck and her "job" as "president" in her brother company? we are not talking about a convenient store here.

You are the ignorant here !!! Prove me wrong, if you can !!!

Prove you wrong? You did it yourself. You have no clue whatsoever as to what her job function entailed and you have no clue as to what is involved in a large family business. You make the claim that PM Yingluck did nothing in her previous job and yet you cannot substantiate that accusation. The onus is on you to substantiate your allegation. Do you have even the slightest idea of what she did previously?

Here's how the Economist described her "She gained her business experience from working for the family as well. Ms Yingluck ran the Shinawatras’ principal money-spinner, Advanced Info Service, Thailand’s largest mobile-phone operator, from 2002 until it was sold off in 2006, after which she ran the family property business." If you think she sat there as eye candy, then there is nothing I can say because the position you espouse is incredibly ignorant and ill informed.

I might have no clue as you say, but I seriously doubt that you have more than I do.

I might be ignorant as you say, but you seriously seem to be at least as ignorant as I am.

What she did previously....well, it might not be that impressive if her post (created for her, may I remind) has been scrapped immediately once a new owner took over.

Anyway, GK, whatever you say is quite irrelevant...and yes, whatever I say is quite irrelevant too. None of us will have any influence on Thai politics, or muppets show rather...

Our positions are quite far apart. You are a Thaksin and his family lover. And you believe he is the nation savior.

I am convinced that he and his family are just a bunch of thieves, and that they have absolutely NO interest in Thai well being.

I stand by my position, and I still insist that Yingluck has achieved nothing in business, and will achieve nothing in politics. She is here for one purpose only, and we all know what it is all about. Period.

  8. ...

The Democrat sheer panic today in threatening to impeach all manner of people may also indicate they didnt see the PTP strategy coming and that heads are exploding over it in elite land. It could be worrying times

The Dem's are fulfilling their opposition position in a democratic manner. They target obvious, almost self-confessed persons, not 'all manner of people'.

Still with the current government spending so much time on k. Thaksin rather than country and it's people we are indeed in for worrying times.

The Dems failed, failed, failed, when in government........are they to be more successful in opposition?.

The Dems abysmal failure to negate the influence of Thaksin.....failure to appear to address the economic woes of the rural community....failure to convince the electorate they were the party to govern Thailand............ has left Thailand in the situation it is in now...........

Wait a bit, you will see how good at failure PTP is as well... It does not seem as good a start as they wanted Thai to believe during their campaign. So many steps back already.....

  9. Why is this a surprise?

You want a real surprise? if you thought there had been a warrant and that the Abhisit government was taken seriously on this matter, wait until you find out who had been in communication with the former PM.

It's got to come out sooner or later. C'mnon Nation. What are you waiting for ? laugh.gif

The Thaksin bashers will be apoplectic.

Why the suspense if you are in the know let all of the peons in on the bigggggg secret.

Yeah, must be quite a big one....So go ahead GK , spill the beans,... Elighten us, poor normal human, bless us with your immense knowledge! Show that you are not only parading here !

  10. So far so good closer and closer to dear brothers return

The wedding is in 4 months - chaimai?

Miitary Coup next month..... any bets..?

Well, we've heard about a military coup for a year or so now.

Nothing happened yet. The reds are in power, the PM is a joke, Surapong is already working for his master, so that Thaksin will be on his merry way back here sooner than we can think, and still we are here, looking at this country on its way to be the laughing stock of the world....

  11. Thaksins group won the last 4 elections by landslide.

You must have a strange definition of landslide.

Thaksin's group, as you call it, have achieved the feat once, in 2005. All the other elections they have been unable to get a majority, with the exception of the latest one when they managed a majority of 3%. You call this a landslide?

All this information is very easily available. Why do people continue to echo lies and propaganda?

Why do people continue to echo lies and propaganda?

Because this is the only way for them to exist ...

  12. She has probably better things to do than answer question to some silly rumours about Thaksin.

Silly rumours..... :cheesy: Yes of course.... :cheesy:

Seems that red supporters are also at lost about their heroes' actions, non actions, reactions, etc..... Must be terrible to realize that all their heroes were only talking bullsh*t during the campaign...

  13. So far so good one inch at a time eventually becomes a foot. Thaksin home for the wedding

Yes. Won't that be grand? The people of Thailand believe in the sanctity of family and what better way to demonstrate that strong differentiating characterstic than to help a father come home to see his beautiful daughter married in a wedding that will delight the population. :whistling:

I suppose some of the western males in TVF may not understand this as I believe a characteristic of many older western males is to abandon their wives and children in favour of a woman/kathoey they meet in a Thai beer bar. However, for those that understand family values, they will appreciate why it is a good thing for the beloved Mr. Thaksin to return. Perhaps this show of family unity may cause discomfort in some, what with their not having a presentable partner nor much of a family life, but for the family loving Thais, they will find it heartwarming to see the love of a father for his child. It makes me shed a tear. B)

You might even be invited, as a reward for your never ending loyalty...
