  1. District office? Do you mean the local amphur where you apply for the marriage certificate? That is, getting married in Thailand, not registering a marriage performed in another country. If so, there is no check done. Just last month, honey-bunny and I (currently residing in Bangkok) went to the amphur in Korat where we plan to move to soon, handed over the legalized documents, and walked out married half an hour later, 20 baht poorer.
  2. Thanks..............I think? I'm going by all the threads on this here forum that tell me it's not required to change the address on your licenses, that you can wait until renewal. Is that not correct? As to registrations, those will all be in girlwife's name, as will the taxes and insurance. Not having been charged with any traffic violations in the past 40+ years, I'll take my chances regarding the speeding tickets.
  3. Wasn't that changed years ago, and now it is possible to file a TM-30 by post or online?
  4. The title is what it is. Arrived in Bangkok on a visa waiver, submitted a TM-30 via the sec. 38 app. At CW, applied for a non-O visa for retirement, and now an annual extension and re-entry permit. Also got auto and motorcycle licenses with my Bangkok address using the embassy "single affidavit" in lieu of residence certificate at Mochit DLT. Planning to move to Korat soon, and already have the Korat residence registered on the sec. 38 app. Once we move, we'll submit a new TM-30 for the new residence. I think I'm done, but am I? No need to inform CW that I'm moving. The new TM-30 handles that. I go to Korat immigration for my next 90-day report in person on the date shown on the receipt given me by CW. I have a new fixed account from a Korat bank branch specifically for immigration fully funded prior to receiving the annual extension, balance forward updated every 60 days or so if I need to show funds have remained in the bank. (not the same account as used at CW to apply for visa and extension) No need to inform Korat that I've arrived. The new TM-30 handles that, as well. First contact with Korat will be the first 90-day report. As to vehicle licenses, I can wait until renewal time to change the address. What have I forgotten?
  5. I think you mean OPODO Here's the contact/help page. https://www.opodo.com/customer-service/#/ Bottom right, click the chat where it says "How can we help". Type "talk to agent" May have to do that a few times, answer a few questions. Should get to a live human shortly.
  6. It's not as much the looking too small, but the cramped feeling that my knees are up around my earlobes.
  7. Former bike was a Concours which also felt too small. Added peg lowers, bar risers and taller tires. CB250 looks interesting, new model is twister? I'll get out of the apartment and do some in-person research once i get over the covids.
  8. I'm looking for a suitable small motorcycle for me and the new missus. This will be solely for use around a mid-sized town in Issan with good roads and light traffic. No Bangkok traffic, no highway use, no long trips, although I'll probably occasionally ride solo to Korat. I've looked at some of the popular scooters, but I don't seem to fit. 1.90m, 34L inseam, size 47 shoes. They all feel like circus clown tricycles. Any recommendations for a sub-400cc bike for a taller guy? Prefer a cruiser style, not a crotch-rocket. I'm looking for something like a Honda Phantom 200, Kawa W250, Keeway K-Light 200, Zongshen Ryuka RK125, Lifan 250. Any comments about these concerning quality or sizing? Currently, leaning towards a Centaur CT-170i.....
  9. I don't think so. I went directly to the booking page and made two new appointments, and was planning to cancel tomorrow's bookings next. I didn't realize there was a "reschedule" button (but no 'cancel' button) on the original confirmation, only looking at the reminder email received today. It seems I still have two sets of appointments. There doesn't seem to be a way to get into the system and cancel open bookings.
  10. I have appointments tomorrow at CW for retirement extension and re-entry, but just now tested positive for the covids. What are the requirements for entry to CW after having the covids? Do i need a hospital PCR test or just my home ATK showing negative? Is there a minimum waiting time afterwards? I've made new bookings for ten days in the future, but am unable to cancel tomorrow's appointments. Is there a secret button somewhere I missed?
  11. The booking is checked at the airline check-in counter, not at immigration. The airline is just covering their behinds, as they would be responsible for returning you to point of origin if denied entry. You have a valid booking for a flight thirty days in the future, as required by the destination country. If denied entry, you have a valid onward booking you can pay for and use. Airline is off the hook.
  12. It's a valid, confirmed booking only. You could fly on it..........but only after you paid the outstanding balance.
  13. My girlfriend and I will be moving from Bangkok to Isaan soon. We're looking for a reliable mover preferably with a covered/enclosed van to haul the contents of her 28m apartment to the new house. Any recommendations?
