I am thinking of bringing a small bio ethanol feature fire from UK to Thailand. Obviously I can't carry the fuel. I have looked at Lazada and Shoppee - nothing. Any ideas please?

Onerak. I think you are referring to the Thailand pass which we agree is easy. We are talking about visas which are an entirely different matter.

Thanks freedomnow. I was beginning to think it was just me! Yes Thailand pass was a breeze (I was part of the first week idiots last year so can convert my pdfs to jpegs with the best of them).

Hi all and thanks. It is the same today. It seems to me that it is clearly an error but there is no way past. Are there any other ways of applying for visas from the UK rather than through thaivisa.go.th? I will try and submit with jpegs saying 'this is not required for a tourist visa' but not optmistic. If anyone has any updates please say. Also any thoughts or input on if we go in on normal 30 day entry will be be able to change to an O in Thailand.

I am not able to organise insurance for Non O easily as my partner is over 75. In a previous post I said that according to supporting documents we needed to provide Thai Insurance - not my understanding however happy to be flexible .... The whole point of dropping our OA was because the O didn't need Thai insurance (we have worldwide BUPA) however that seems wrong? So I thought I'd just get a 60 day tourist visa and worry about it when we got to Thailand. The supporting docs are also so bizarre. Do I have the right website? There are 12 supporting documents on the list including impossible to obtain / incomprehensible ones. 1. Identity of the person inviting you to stay e.g. Thai ID card, Passport 2. A confirmation letter from employer, School, Self-assessment, Pension statement 3. Applicant must apply for e-Visa via specific Embassy/Consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency. Applicant is required to upload document that can verify his/her current residency. I am floundering with this. Any advice appreciated. Or should30 I just enter on a 30 day tourist visa and sort in Samui? Thanks and forgive me if being thick.

Did you need Thai insurance? I gave up my OA because of this requirement and O didn't need it but now the website is asking for it. Very puzzled.

We've had an OA for a few years but left in January and were advised to let it lapse as one of us is just over 75 to avoid heavy medical cover costs particularly as we are already covered. Plan was to return on an O visa and convert to a retirement visa in Thailand which seemed fine? We have the necessary funds in Thai bank account. So sat down to to the online application with confidence and now aaargh. Please any input on one or all of the following would be helpful. All are about supporting documentation. Or alternative plan? 1. Q4 - what constitutes proof of country of residence (if there is a website which explains this a link is great). 2. Q6 - we have gold standard BUPA worldwide but seemingly we still need a Thai policy for massively smaller cover. Any suggestions for an easy fix for an over 75 (I can do the AXA one as under). 3. Thanks oldcpu. I never thought of coming back on a 30 day exempt. This would suit well as getting to London is a pain and I don't fancy entrusting my passport to the mail. I will use airmiles if I need a return flight anywhere as they are fully refundable but in fifteen years coming in and out of Thailand on various visas up to six times a year I've never been asked. Not sure if it is just luck ???? My OA expires on the 13th of March - and my flight in arrives the 14th (lots of reasons not flexible) - so guessing no point in getting a re-entry before we leave Thailand?

We have no problem paying for the insurance if we can find it? I have been given a contact and will report back to the forum if successful but if in the meantime anyone has any input would be grateful. Have also been told if we come in on a single entry O visa we can apply for a 12 month extension with multiple entry. For us this would be a great option - possible?

So we have had an OA visa for the last two years which held us in good stead during the pandemic. It is due to lapse in March and my husband is now over 75 so appropriate Thailand insurance might be tricky to find - any ideas? We have unlimited BUPA coverage so this is merely for the purpose of getting a visa. (Previously we had an annual multiple entry visa which worked fine but no longer seems to exist hence why we opted for OA.) We spoke briefly to a lawyer and she recommended we let this OA visa lapse and re-apply in the UK for an O visa. This also conveniently gets rid of the hassle of having 800K each tied up in Thailand. Sounded good. However looking at the Thai Embassy site in London it only appears to offer single entry versions. As we use Thailand as a base for travel (well we used to and are hoping to return to something resembling the good old days) this would not be in any way convenient. I am sure I am wrong or missing something? We are happy to do visa runs every 90 days if need be as we don't intend to spend much above six weeks on any one trip. Thanks in anticipation.

Thanks all. As most of the money transferred was directly from UK to developer or lawyers most of the cash has no Thai bank tracing available. First lawyer not in existence nor are either developer in the same guise so makes life a bit trickier. It is a big beachside house so chunky amount. Where there's a will there's a way but it just sounds like it will have to be an incremental process rather than a straightforward one.

Gentlemen! Where did I say I was a man? And where did I say I have a Thai wife? I'm the female (maybe a bit alpha!) in this relationship and we are both Brits ???? I'm guessing this changes things ....?
