I have been in Thailand now for 35 years, got married had several businesses and paid lots of taxes and been a model person all these years and still I'm a pariah in this land, a non grata persona with not even a remote chance of getting old age pension, (not that i need it)
You would think at least citizenship to not have to worry with all the immigration <deleted>

Thank you so much for all your comments guys! I’ll try to answer most of the questions here, as to not spam every one of you with messages.
I’m all in for living like a local, I have no interest in having a western lifestyle when I’m in Bangkok! ((: I think the best experience always comes from doing what the locals do right?
- Restaurants: I prefer to cook simple dishes at home or buy from a small local restaurant. I don’t eat red meat so it will mostly be chicken, fish, rice, pasta and vegetables.
- Nightlife: I’m not one to go out every night. Maybe a beer after work but that would be the most, and only 2-3 times a week tops. And maybe once or twice a month having the clubbing experience.
- What visa do you have?: my goal is to get the non-immigrant visa for the work permit.
- Here for work, play, school, travel?: work and local travel when available.
- If you have one, what's your monthly budget? I don’t have one yet.
- Do you speak Thai? No, I speak English, Spanish and Italian. But I’m planing to take a Thai language course before I go to Thailand. My goal is to keep studying the language when I get there.
- Single or accompanied? Single!
- How long do you plan to stay? As long as the job contract allows me to, I’m hoping for at least 2 years. If I find myself happy there I’ll try to stay for more.
- Public transportation or private? Public transportation is preferable. I was also considering investing on a scooter but I don’t know if it’s really better.
- Entertainment at night how often, to do what/where?: as I said above at most twice a week to a local bar to get a beer, maybe to a club to dance once or twice a month.
- Are you an upmarket, mid market, or happy with down market person?: happy with down market for sure!
Thank you again to all, I hope this helps in having a more accurate estimate ????????
Huh your asking for cost of living and you don't have a budget? You can lease a Bently at Siam paragon and the Marriott would be a lovely home

Not really.
Your response was unnecessary and pointless.
I have been replying to Sleepy99 who is the OP and who seemed to be a bit lost in the beginning as to why the funds were not in his account.
Most posters came up with reasonable and helpful answers, until you came along.
Calm down precious. I would never let an internet stranger ruin my day... Peace man

1910÷7 = so 273 flights a day just of Chinese. How can the AOT handle all those extra flights when they are still having all of the regular flights land. Just yesterday we saw an OP on Suvarnabhumi trying to return to getting folks through immigration and baggage. As far as I know the extra 60 desks are not even out for a bid to be built.
6,318 more flight requests will add another 902 flights per day.
Please tell me just how they will manage the influx of almost 600k passengers per day, just from China. Looks like they believe the PM of 200illion coming this year......
555+
What are your calculations based on? Im guessing a gut feel..
Try 76 flights per hour and thats just suvarnabuhmi. Now whip out your calculator

Double check you didnt send to wrong account. Did your country have a bank holiday?

I would have bitten the dog on the snout hard or kicked it hard in the guts to assert yourself as the alpha. Wolf handlers kick the <deleted> out of them when they don't follow alpha rules
This is how its done and thats a wolf

Don't worry. If Putin has another call up for his expected Spring offensive, there will be another surge of long stay Russian tourists.
Not true except for a low percentage. Jomtien is jam packed with russians all pushing prams. These are not wealthy draft dodgers. They Must return to their jobs

The ticks lead to permanent residency in most western countries. Thailand has no ticks its just never going to happen for most of us. I would work through those ticks but it's usually just a flat no chance and of course they have the right but it's not really fair when western countries will allow a Thai full benefits Maybe the west should ban residency as its not reciprocated here . Now do you get it?
