  1. Sorry, but Nick the Pizza needs to smarten his act up. It is by far and away the worst Pizza I have ever tasted in Pattaya. Thestandard of take away pizza has improved markedly and NTP is not even close to edible.

  2. Hi,

I have a couple ofbit's and bobs to do in my house - put up some blinds, paint a 1 metre squared area do a bit of drilling, fix a lock. In all about 2 hours work. The last guy I used was a rip off merchant and charged a fortune. So if anyone can recommend, please PM me

    Thanks

  3. Hi there,

I have no intention to return to Australia so want to buy in reality a one way ticket. Actually, my onward ticket to Singapore is just in case of Visa issues at the airport. Will the Singapore onward ticket (for 14 days later) suffice for a VOA.

Also, what is the best I can hope for Visa wise from Sydney consulate. I am working here on a sponsorship visa and about to leave. I hold a UK passport but I hear Sydney is a nightmare and i may not have time to post the passport to Brisbane for a (non guaranteed) Multi O.

Any advice appreciated on this double quandry!

    Cheers

  4. Not sure that only Thai nationals can get a recruitment license - never heard of that one before.?

Trust me, been in Recruitment in Thailand for the last 4 years, its 100% true. Yes all agencies have to submit their jobs, if your found out, up to 60,000 baht fine and closure for up o 30 days. Once you open, you can pretty much guarantee a visit from the Dept of Labour within your first 6 months.

I take your word for it!! Any chance you can get me a job In BKK then - I have 7 years recruitment experience in UK and Oz!!

  5. Not sure that only Thai nationals can get a recruitment license - never heard of that one before. However, to avoid complication, I would work your business 'offshore' ie make your clients organisations in other SE Asian countries and visit them accordingly. Similarly find your candidates in these offshore countries. Technically therefore you are not working in Thailand and can live comfortably on yur offshore income on a Muliple 'O' Visa - why complicate things?

  6. If you are thinking of opening in Thailand legaly, to gain your own personal work permit, you need to employ 4 Thais. Low barriers to entry- if you are working the SE Asia market, you can fly via busget airlines to HKK and Singapore relatively cheaply - which I would assume would be your largest markets? Alternatively, you could get clients to pay you offshore and get a Multiple 'O' entry visa . Technically you are then not working in Thailand and can work from a bedroom or an apartment.

  7. Well gburns, thats ok. Believe what you like, we are happily in OZ. Those snakehead comments only add to your lack of knowledge.

    Best regards.

Seeing as you only joined yesterday....I will cut you some slack...

but just to fill you in....I have been doing this for a number of years....and not just on this site...For someone with a lack of knowledge I have been reasonably successful with the applications that I have assisted with off board.....100% so far....that includes various types of visas and not just 676 visas.

Been there and done that old son.....and courtesy of this site...I will soon have the T shirt to prove it.

    :D:o

    Gburns,

In my mind yours is the only advice i would follow since you were nothing but helpful. One question though, what is the difference between 48R visa and a class 676

  8. Ok what was the substance of the stat dec? I.e. what was it a declaration of?

As for this debate, I agree that Gburns advice is generally sound, but on this issue I would strongly disagree. You see the purpose of a stat dec is to make a declaration about something in the past. I.e. something that cannot be easily proved by supporting documents, it is not there to make a ‘promise’ about something in the future which is what has been suggested.

Why cant you make a SD for a future action ??.

For example one might make a stat dec about how they met their partner, or about your income if, for example you were a casual or self employed and didn’t have a wage and hence a fixed salary that could be proved. Like I said you don’t make a stat dec for something that might happen in the future. If DIAC want you to make a binding commitment of support they will get you to sign their specific forms.

One may also make a SD as an agreement to repay monies owed to another party....Talking about a private agreement not Immi

If someone wanted to provide a stat dec with an application then go ahead, but don’t do it as a substitute for the letter of invitation. You need one of those too, their documentation says so. Sure some here may have got away without one and used a stat dec, but I would bet my left and right goolies that those instances the cases pretty much stood for themselves anyway. A would also bet those who have been asked to provide one have been asked to do so to clarify a past issue and not as a form of assurance for something in the future.

If it covers the same ground as a letter of invite, then why not use it as a substitute ??

Bottom line is if DIAC wanted a stat dec they would ask for it and they would make it pretty clear what you are making the declaration for. What they do ask for is a letter of invite which covers the nature of the relationship, why the applicant is planning to go to Australia and what support you or others will be providing.

If you read my first post on this thread you will see it is an extract from the website concerning the requirements for a visitors visa....It does not mention a letter of invite.

As I have also said on numerous occasions and no one seems to believe me, giving too much information can be bad also. The thing it does is arouses suspicion and futher investigation. If the case is strong and clear just provide what they ask.

Too much information of the wrong type can be bad....I always advocate the KISS principle...The SD should only pertain to the facts and not be a long drawn out statement....I stated before that most people because a SD is a legal document people generally keep it short and to the point. Whereas when people write a letter, they do so in the same manner as they would a letter to Mum.

Here is an example of the SD I did for my wifes first visa to Oz.

I am making this declaration in support of a visitor visa application to Australia by.........................

    I have known......................for a period of ........years/months

......................is making the application for the purpose of a holiday only

I will support .................. for all costs including Transportation, Accommodation, Medical and all general living costs.

...............................will be residing with me at the above address for the entirety of the visit

I will ensure that ..........................abides by the conditions of the visa if it is so granted

I am aware of the penalties if I am found to have made any declaration in this document that I know to be misleading or false.

I used a letter of invite in my first application which was similar to Gburns' SD above. What I don't understnad is that it becomes a valid document when you walk intoyour bank and get a bank clerk to sign (this is just an example by the way as they are one of the many dignitaries with the power of signature) or even a postal worker.

To my mind it seems a little pointless and I am sure that most of the approved list would be reluctant to sign such a Stat Dec just in case of an overstay and being implicated in such matters. Please correct me if I am wrong

    cheers

  9. I have to say that I am greatly impressed by the quality of Australian visa advice from GBurns, and on behalf of ThaiVisa I thank him for his invaluable contributions.

    Thanks DrPP....we can but try....

    :o

I have to agree wholeheartedly with DrPP. Gburns is a the best source of info and you should listen to all the advice he gives when applying for a Visa. I am on a sponsorship 457 Visa in Oz (ie a non-res) and the 48R tourist visa was granted to my TG with a whole lot of paperwork. I am not sure I will provide as much this time as the embassy only considered about half of it. But the more the better. Gburns knows his onions as they say. To all board members looking for a visa to Oz follows his advice. Sorry Gburns if this gives you added workload!!!

    cheers

  10. Michael,

The best advice is to ignore any advice from people with less than 10 posts.

Check out the Australian Embassy Website and department of immigration website.

The main things that will be looked are proof of your relationship.

Pictures of you together, proof of you traveling to spend time with her, proof of your travel together.

The big one is that she has sufficient ties to Thailand to make her return.

Spell out clearly why she would come back to Thailand, and not overstay her Visa in Australia.

PM me if you have any questions.

    AussieT makes valid points....

A stat dec or a witnessed letter as outlined by Lioness.....in that you will accept responsibility for her while she is here will alleviate the reason to return somewhat.....becuase you are guaranteeing that she will comply by the conditions of her visa.

Gburns you assisted me greatly in my gf getting her first visa against the odds. We are going for a second one in a few months. I dont have as much savings this time round but have a relatively ok paid job and can provide a similar amount of documentation. I submitted a typed letter but I daresay this was a Stat Declaration since I said I would fully support her for the time she was here. I think I have most of the stuff i gave them last time. You think all should be ok? She is still working and has all her docs. Some of the stuff I sent last time was not even looked at!

    Cheers

  11. You can still 'buy' a house and land via thai company as far as I am aware you need Thai national to own a the full precentage and then all you need to do is transfer 49% into your name after the deal has been done at the land office - no investigation will occur after that and you will be safe. However, you do need to 'trust' the Thai nationals who will be your initial Shareholders. I am doing this and it is a massive gamble, but the other 30 year lease alternative is alway there should they decide to investigate my company at a transfer cost of 15,000 baht.

  12. Congratulations mate,

The guys on this forum know their stuff and in reality, if you have a genuine relationship and your papers together, then visas will be granted. Thanks to this forum and a little leg work I got a tourist visa for my tilak and it is no small part down to gburns57. A true gent.

Have a great time in the US

  13. WOF (Ginger).

Thank you. I hope I have enough time to get her sorted out and I look forward to your assistance.

    Cheers again

    Lee

    Mate,

Just make sure she has her house book (if she owns property then that is perfect reason to return to return to LOS) There are quite a few documents you both have to get together, but knowing you, it will be a simple process and there will be no hassles at all. The mere fact that you have a business to return to in LOS will give heavy weighting. It might also be worth making sure that your beloved has a bank account set up. You will also have to show so bank account details, write a letter of invitation and support etc. You may have to get your Mum to write a letter of invite too. I wll come across to see you when I have sorted myself out. I managed to get my tilak a Toursit Visa to Oz and I am not a citizen so don't worry. Gather as much info as you can, photos also help as proof of relationship and bob's your uncle you will both be on the plane to blighty.

The guys on this forum were very helpful for me re the Oz application and I am sure the Scouser will assist on any info for a Toursit Visa to the UK. But first things first, I will go over as much as I know and then take it out to the forum. Plenty of time mate.

  14. Sorry guys for this thread as I am sure it has been done to death...I don't have the time to look through 204 pages on the hope I find the same kind of thread.

    Long story cut short.

I have lived in Pattaya for 3 years, been with the wench 2 years. I stay on a business visa which ran out 4 days ago, I have just renewed my visa (tourist) for one month and I am aware that I have to leave the country within 90 days.

I was planning on going back to the UK in December though due to my shortfall with my business visa (I forgot to get my 3 months extension) I have to go in November. I'm 37, have a home in the UK (no mortgage), I have a business in the UK which I am the MD of (limited for 7 years)

I want to take the wench with me for maximum one month...I have no idea where to start? People talk about getting married etc though that is not an option at this juncture.

Please, can anyone point me to a thread that covers this issue or give me some direction.

Thanks for any help in advance.

    Lee,

I'll run you through the steps when I am back this week.

    Cheers

    Watchoutfarang (Ginger)
