  1. As I said before, this was a rumor I heard which supposedly originated from someone talking to an immigration officer. That was the reason I asked the question here on thaivisa.com.

However, my visa is due to be renewed on the 18th of this month. I will take the opportunity to ask the immigration officers myself and will post the response so that everyone interested will know what the situation is. :o

  2. It seems to me, from what I have read that this guy MAY be guilty of spreading aids to young girls and women through unprotected sex. It does not appear that he is guilty of having sex with minors which is probably why the police cannot arrest him.

As a result of the publicity in this case, no doubt someone will take action against him, rightly or wrongly, which makes me think he is pretty stupid to return to the same area :o

Anyway, from the looks of his photo, his "expiration date" will probably come sooner than the one on his visa. :D

  3. the grim reaper.... getting a medical certificate.....you'll lose all credibility ......whatever next....... lucifer helping old ladies cross the road !!

Hey, it's only for immigration purposes. I'm OK s long as they don't do a blood test. That would stretch my credibility a bit.

Lucifer only escorts old ladies halfway across the road then abandons them to the traffic :o

    It's called population control :D

  4. Many thanks to the guys who replied to my question. I'm not too concerned about having a full check-up as I have not needed to visit a doctor for over 20 years.

Getting a medical certificate here in the US is such a hassle. My doctor wanted me to take a number of tests which take time to set up and not all covered by my medical insurance and I am ready to take off to Thailand in 2/3 weeks. Again, thanks to you guys for the info.

Here, they only care if you are a danger to the public via communicable diseases or being crazy. Most doctors will fill the form out after asking just a few questions..

There's another type of med cert. this one to use to get an extension because you can't physically return to your home country because of a medical problem.. I've used this on a couple of occasions before I got my retirement visa... Different form, too

Well, I don't have any communicable diseases. I don't think I'm crazy although some of my friends think I'm a bit weird :o

    Thanks again for the info

  5. I was arrested 18 years ago (in the US) on grand theft auto charges. The cgharges were dropped and I never had to go to court when I produced the sales receipt and documents showing I had bought the car from a licensed car dealer.

I got a police report 2 months ago in preparation for my retirement visa application and even the arrest did not show on the report.

If the charges were dropped I don't think you will have a problem (but I am not an expert on this), so I suggest you get a police report and see what it shows.

Best of luck on your retirement in Thailand :o

  6. Many thanks to the guys who replied to my question. I'm not too concerned about having a full check-up as I have not needed to visit a doctor for over 20 years.

  7. More ammunition for Thaksin's clampdown on sex tourists. No wonder the Thai's have a negative view of farangs. Let's face it, they are such moral people and don't have paedophiles in their society :o (yeah right)

Actually, I'm surprised this piece of s**t survived this long. Let's see if he makes to the Supreme Court hearing. Any bets?

  8. And so the closing time saga continues. Opinions for and against abound, and not one of them will make the slightest bit of difference. :o

The government will continue to do whatever it wants with it's usual disregard of farang opinions. The Philippines and Cambodia must be loving this, not to mention Singapore and Hong Kong. :D

As long as a percentage of sex tourists continue to act in a drunken, loud-mouthed boorish manner, the pressure to shut down this aspect of Thailand nightlife will continue. Owners of entertainment venues would get far more respect and attention from the authorities if they clamped down on the drunks, and made more effort to eliminate drug taking in their establishments and in keeping out underage drinkers.

A little bit of responibility by both the entertainment providers AND their customers would go much further than useless protests and constant whining. :D:D

  9. The writing is on the wall and has been for some time. This government does not want the sex tourist here anymore and the early closing (now 1-00am in Pattaya) is designed to cut the profits of the bars and eventually drive them out of business.

The closing times will eventually get earlier and earlier and be more and more rigidly enforced. My advice (for what it's worth) is, get all the fun you can whilst it's still around. It ain't gonna last much longer.

  10. Lock this piece of shit up, throw the key away and let the inmates deal with him.

Guys like this give all farangs a bad name and is one of the reasons why the Thai government is making it harder for westerners to live in Thailand.

As for the local pervs, that's a Thai problem. They will deal with it (or not) in their own way, after all, it's still their country.

  11. :o

Oh well, here we go again. Everything changes to remain the same.

We can moan, groan, whine and complain all we want but the authorities will do whatever they want anyway. As for the bars complaing about the lack of customers - try getting some decent looking girls and drop the price of drinks. You never know but some punters may actually appreciate this.
