Probably just snobbery mostly. I go to many shops that have very expensive equipment but the coffee is average at best, it's mostly in your head
I would say for shops with expensive equipment and average coffee it is mostly related to the beans used. And for beans everyone has a different taste. And some shops like Starbucks might use ok beans but fill in too much water. I seldom go there, last time I told the staff to fill just 50% of the water and this was the first time I had a good Americano in Starbucks.

I'm sure yours is average in reality, works for me, i go out to good coffee shops who spend 250k on machines for some reason
I am sure my grinder from Italy for 12,000 Baht with 37 different grind sizes to choose from is excellent for all brewing methods even if I do not need all these 37 options. I also own a cheaper one for around 6,000 Baht which is ok just for coffee press and filter. It cannot be used for an espresso machine. I own a matching espresso machine from Italy and that's why I know how important a good grinder is. The espresso grind size is used also for americano.

That's garbage, buy one, only 250 baht and see what you can do with it
You most probably never made a real espresso in your life. It is not possible with your grinder for 250 Baht. For coffee press or maybe even filter coffee your grinder might be ok, but not espresso.

Grinders are over rated, i have a 250 baht Lazada one and it works very well, you have to control the grind by how many seconds you use it
I have never seen a cheap grinder able to grind fine expresso. Grind is usually uneven and as I said not fine enough for an espresso machine. And a 250 Baht grinder is probably a blade grinder, the worst of all because of uneven grind.

I just took that from research. I know some that make more and some less. A lot are on Medicare and only pay if they have plan B. People living in Thailand have no idea how little millions live in the US, and that many are a few lost paychecks away from losing their homes or cars.
Medicare is US specific. There are lot's of other countries without that system in place.

I'm guessing you're not taking into account there are hundreds of thousands of people living in the US on 65K a month, or less. The average Thai lives okay at 15K a month, but of course they expect foreigners to spend more, even though a foreigner could live here fairly well on less than 40K a month, as long as they weren't huge drinkers, ate food at home, and didn't spend more than necessary on eating out.
Like BritmanToo said, you can eat easily on less than 100 baht a meal, even for two. Street food is as good as much Thai restaurant food. Amazon coffee is as good as Starbucks. You can get pizzas for less than 250 baht, hamburgers for less than 200 baht and other western food for less than 300 also.
Some westerners need AC all day long, and rarely go out, so living here is just like anywhere else, besides the fact you can get women and rent cheaper here. After your house is built, if you have one and don't rent, the only expenses could be electricity, if you have a well. Add water and it's still not much. Paying for a car if you have one is another expense that can be less than 10K a month. Of course there are foreigners that made money in their countries raping the earth or swindling others, and they have money to burn, but the average retiree makes enough every month, around $1781 USD,and that makes living here easy, as long as you're not throwing money away to show off.
I personally doubt that the average retiree has around 1,781 USD income per month. The real figure is much lower than that. And you have to take health insurance or other medical expenses or self insurance into account.

My previous Citibank account showed up in the UOB app today. I had accounts at both banks. Transfer was done automatically today in my case.
The UOB app is named UOB TMRW Thailand.

On top of Phu Taboeg mountain in Petchabun should be cooler. It is the highest point in that region. I went up there many times and always found it to be pleasant.

Malinois are great dogs used in military and police. However absolutely not recommended for private households. They are extremely energetic, fearless and not easy to handle.

A 62-year-old man from Germany has, against medical advice, been vaccinated 217 times against Covid, doctors report.
The bizarre case is documented in The Lancet Infectious Diseases journal.
The shots were bought and given privately within the space of 29 months.
The man appears to have suffered no ill effects, researchers from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg say.

As far as I can tell, having an airport is the new status symbol, almost every province seems to be trying to justify one, I count 39 so far!
The interesting thing is that while those airports do exist some of them do not have flights, at least not for passengers.

I tried taking melatonin last week.
I had horrible headaches for 3 days after.
It was the worst thing I ever tried and I will not be trying it ever again.
It felt absolutely horrible.
Just a thought. It might be just a coincidence, not caused by Melatonin. Where did you buy it, it might not be Melatonin at all because this side effect is not really known.

I try and train 5 days a week, ( I am 53 and in good health).
I use a mixture of TRX and Bodylastics (resistance bands), and do CV work either running around a lake near me (weather permitting) or static bike.
If you are older than this and have health worries I would recommend Bodylastics (very cheap on Lazada), easy to set up anywhere, it will exercise every muscle group, and you can set your own resistance (kilograms), good for flexibility and to keep muscles from atrophying, also is easy on the joints.
Example training programme:
Mon Back and Biceps and 15k static bike
Tue Chest and Triceps and 5k run
Wed Shoulders and Legs
Thurs Rest day upper body 20k static bike or 5k run
Fri Repeat from the top..
I do the above programme but 85% of the time it is with TRX not bodylastics.
As I say this is just an example you can adjust it around to suit your health conditions/age.
Always go and get checked out by your Doctor before embarking on any exercise programme.
Bands like bodylastics are great. Be careful however about the cheap copies at Lazada. They do not last long and can hurt you when breaking. The sets at Lazada often cost the same as a single good band from a reputable company. Good and expensive bands can last years. Just to mention.

Anyone else toyed about with TT? I'd recently downloaded it and was shocked to see so many new arrivals **living** in Thailand and posting their perception and opinion as fact.
The funny thing is that they'll all be kicked out or just abandon of their new *home* and the country they love so much within 12-36 months guaranteed.
The posts are often innane amounting to shi*posting basically as there are so many, much of it. They'll never keep the volume up.
The content is simply stupid tidbits of information they've gleaned while spending a month or two on Sukhumvit or some overly touristed city. They routinely glorify 7 as some sort of gourmet experience.
I'm simply amazed at how much data the app sucks.
The app itself does not suck but as everybody can post videos there this results in a lot of rubbish. And I agree about the comments about the mentioned new experts showing off. But the app is great and useful once you figure out how to correctly use it and let the algorithm show you what you really like.
There is something for everyone to find, for example cooking recipes, athletes and actors, science, history, entertainment, basically everything. You should register once and mark your fields of interest. Once you start to give likes and follows the algorithm will bring you lot of similar videos and you will be mostly shown only items you like. And important, if a video sucks, do not watch it through, otherwise the algorithm noted your interest. I even started to date a pretty girl who found my attention (no, I will not give you the link to her videos 😄).

Maybe they should pay them better.
A friend who visits NANA regularly seems to meet lots of girls there who are nurses - real once.
I would not believe what the girls in Nana say about their real education.

Not sure to understand ; which sim card ? I have Internet at home with my smartphone, but I don't buy a special sim card for Internet, I have a 50 bahts AIS card, which doesn't connect to Internet when I am outside, it works only for telephone
This is not correct. The 50 Baht AIS card can connect to the Internet if mobile data is enabled. And to do it cheaper you have to buy a data package from AIS for the existing card.
-
If you have a smartphone you do not need a new Sim card. All Sim cards can be used to access the Internet. What kind of Sim card are you using?

Just had my online 90 day report rejected. The reason 'Incomplete information provided.' That has to be a completely stupid reason for it to be rejected. Failure not to fill out the online report correctly won't allow ones application to be accepted. To be accepted tells me I filled it out correctly.
You can file it online again without problem. But try to find out if something was missing. It happened to me before and there was a very minor error on my side.

TM47 is the 90 day report - was that TM30 by chance? Have not heard of any such requirement for home owners to update every year but perhaps because you are owner and occupier.
I am also owner and occupier. I did my 90 days report online about 1 month ago without any problem as usual. My last TM30 was years ago.

With low-cost airlines you get what you pay for and pay for what you get.
There are much better options out there.
These better options do not exist on domestic routes to most destinations except maybe major tourist areas. But yes, you get what you pay for, I do not really have any other complaints.

I had a similar problem last year. When booking a flight the app was frozen during payment. The flight was not to be found in my bookings, so I repeated the same process again. The result was that there were 2 booked seats with my name on the same flights. It was not possible to contact Air Asia except via useless chat bot.
On my flight date I went to Don Mueang to the Air Asia office. The charming staff members were very helpful and cancelled the double booked flight and explained that I will be refunded within 2 weeks or so. The refund was just a small part of what I paid, my guess is that I was charged an administrative fee for the cancellation.
Otherwise I use the airline often and do not have any complaints. To contact a human being is however quite impossible except you drive all the way to an airport.
agoda more expensive than direct booking? + bit of scam innit

Agoda and other agents have a quota of rooms often for the whole year. One hotel told me once that it is not allowed to offer the Agoda reserved rooms directly because they are reserved. My guess is that in your case that of the Agoda reserved rooms there were only 3 available. Another time I saw the price at Agoda but went to a hotel directly. Surprisingly the hotel price was more expensive. The receptionist told me to use my phone and book at Agoda, which I did to be able to check in immediately for the lower Agoda price.
My experience is that sometimes Agoda or booking.com are cheaper and other times not. Agoda has good deals if you book just 24 hours or less before arrival. And at Agoda you can collect points of I think 10%value of the booking price, that means you will get credit back. If you have enough points you will get a free night.
