  1. There seems to be alot mising from this story, it has not come to light as to what really took place prior to him going into the Nana hotel. There was no mention of him not paying a bill at all as he wasnt drinking , he seemed to be under the influence of something ( not verifide ) while fighting with his Thai girlfriend who worked nearby, from what I was told within 15 minutes of the incedent , they had a real punchup in front of the said bar ( bar was closed this was outside ) prior to him walking up the street towards nana hotel.

Nobody knows why he went up into nana hotel and the investigation is ongoing as they questioned close to 15 people that morning (and watched CCTV footage from a bar infront of nana hotel) who were there at the time of the argument between him and a thai lady. from what i was told she didnt even go after him. 10 minutes later the staff at the hotel were yelling for assistance after he fell.

there is alot more to this story and I think more will be made available after the full investigation is done.

Regardless how it happend its a sad ending to a long night.

  2. It's based on how many days they work

If they only work 10 days in a month, they will receive 3,000 Baht

If they work 30 days, then 9,000 Baht

Not sure about that, it's a minimum wage for full time employees. Not casual or part time workers. Don't think an employer would want to pay social security etc for a causual worker.

Maybe wrong, not sure how the law applies, but I would love to have workers who would work for 300 Baht a day. Won't get out of a hammock here for less than 500 Baht, unless they have run out of money for Lao Kow.

My workers earn 20,000 and over a month and am 7 short. Jim

why dont you hire some farang!

    Now thats funny... laugh.png

  3. So, theses warrant can going to make a easy blacklist people ?

So, many hotels sometime they don't check hotel, and if have some blood into the bed, and they want to charge and request a warrant also for a bed ship 500b !

    so scary

If the hotel doesn't check the room before you check out there is nothing to worry about, most times they check the room and fridge before you leave.

  4. Man this is one time I wish that I didn't now about the situation , Yes hotel owners that pay tax and have hotel licenses can have you held on "nonpayment' , normally it is local police stations but it will go to the airport, not immigration itself, As a hotel owner I have had customers held for payment when they just Ditched out without paying there bill, remember we get a fine if we don't report you staying in our hotel so we don't get charged for reporting you for not paying your bill.

What you do is up to you but I would just send the 4,800 to them and move on.

I hope all works out for you, It really is easy for us to hold you for payment.

PM me if you want to talk in private.

  5. I was going through some details on the update and it seems that the update is not regarding mpg4 or encryption but more for the reason that most digital or HD channels from other countries are H.264 and the boxes we had or used are not H.264 stream compatible. I have a few Dreamboxes / Astro and a few True setups at different locations so Im waiting to see what happens. I did think mpg4 was the norm though.

  6. Thanks guys. that's good news.

    Hi guys ,

the number of share holders has been reduced to 3 and the structure still remains for a Thai ltd.co 51/49 , the only problem I have come across the last few months is this is for New company setups and not so easy for existing company's trying to reduce share holders and re-calculate the share structure.

the 1 example I can share is :

company xyz ltd.co had seven share holders, went through the process to sell out there shares to 3 of the existing share holders and when the paper work got to the Dept of ( the one that stamps the company reg ) they wanted to see the bank transfer of funds to the old share holders from the remaining 3 for the sale of shares. not a company transfer but from the actual share holders based on the company's last financial statement. It was registered at 5 million baht so they wanted to see funds paid to the 4 Thai share holders that were selling.

This was probably an extreme case , hope others have easier times this.

  7. I think if i read that link above correctly the increase is for new applicants and changes/modifications not renewals. new apps and modifications to existing work permits is actually more work , new app is the full 4-5 pages of job application, and the changes/ modifications also take a new app to change your current position, address of work ect.

Or i could be Wrong :)

On a side note someone should make a thread about the labor and immigration offices , labor office was in and out less than 30 minutes both trips and Chang Wattana could not have been smoother and very relaxed atmosphere compared to how Suan plu was. really a big plus since the move.

  8. Mine; is not a rubber nose ; It is a silicon implanted one; I paid alot to put it on :o

Well that explains it !! You put it in the wrong area :D

But on another subject, Hope he doesn't follow my office standard and never get involved with other members of staff..It worked great for me , they just keep trying harder. :D

    Cheers...

    I cant spell..

  9. Just by coincidence i was wondering the same thing, and this morning I saw one of them land between suk soi 15-19 , I never thought any of the hotels over there had a heliport on the roof.

Still would like to know what place if anyone knows..

    Cheers

  10. Swan Bar down soi 4 is good for couples and friends to go and play together, they have 16 tables including about 5 full size.

They dont have it setup for challenge , but the loser pays if playing another customer, but not the service staff..

Swan 4 bar and hotel ,down farther on the right hand side opposite SM Grand , has 8 tables plus 1 full size and more girls if your going alone.

Drink prices seem ok, beers are 100 I think .

    Cheers

  11. There are good and bad in every profession,

my own experiences have not been as positive as I would have liked, but that does not mean most or all are bad , just the people i have met and in the areas i have met them.

The areas I hang-out and have fun in are not considered by most as the best.I hang around in bars/go-gos/clubs and after hours places when im out, I have met some real characters ( male and female ) that were in fact English teachers at local bangkok / international schools.

I dont want to paint others with the same brush, I would meet better teachers ( maybe ) if I was in better places.

lets hope these are not the rule but the exception.

    Cheers

  12. I had a child at Regents in Pattaya 10 years ago, Big money for nothing. Never passed an exam, all they wanted was money. Office staff used to fall over themselves there were so many. I'm sure its the same at all international schools. Now have 2 kids in private school in Isaan - far better and they are very happy. Tuition costs less than 4000bt a YEAR!

No, it's not the same at all International schools. Our son graduates this year from Ruamrudee International and after 13 years there (Kg + grades 1 thru 12) we are very happy with the school and the education he received. I assume since you had your kids in Regents school that money wasn't a problem only that you weren't satisfied with the school. I hope the Thai school works out for your kids. Are they happy there because disipline is lax and the schooling easy? That's usually the hallmark of Thai schools.

I am glad you made this post about Ruamrudee , I am currently dealing with a few small issues regarding the schooling of my son there.

Have your personal experiences been all positive with this school? The one im referring to is on soi 1 pleonchit,

    Cheers

    Strap,

I think we are talking about two different schools. Our son attends Ruamrudee International School in Minburi. I am not familiar with the school you mentioned on Pleonchit Soi 1.

RIS used to be on Ploenchit Soi 1 but moved to Minburi and there is now a Ruamrudee Learning center that's a kindergarten and I think maybe a primary school as well. They are not affiliated with each other.

Thanks for the info on that also :o yes hes in kindergarten there they go until grade 7 .

    Cheers

  15. Oh your were there also that night?

You should have just asked the service girls what happened as I did.

She was drinking from 4 pm that afternoon with some friends , then started working and after a few more drinks she fell off the stage..

they were not Kidnapping her , they were carrying her out of the bar. If you noticed she was not at all fighting them and her eyes were open.

Good looking out , but this is soi cowboy.

    Cheers
