    We all know it has always been the case that if arrested on overstay you get sent to the detention centre, but if you go to the airport it's a 500 baht a day fine. He was not treated any differently or more harshly than anyone else and deserved to be in there, not let off. I will never be on over stay so wont be following him in there.
