  1. Either the the neighbor is being rude & disrespectful or he doesn't know any better, he should have built his own wall and have a small gap between yours and his wall.

If the wife won't do anything about it, either speak with the farang neighbor or get the tessabaan or land office involved using your best Thai and/or Google translation.

Before the guy is lynched it might be an idea to step back and gather statements, evidence and hold a trial.  I don't trust newspaper reports.

Has anyone in the official investigation called for a lynching or made statements about about him being guilty? No.

And no one here on AN is in position to alter the outcome of the investigation and I seriously doubt the Thai authorities are reading AN posts on what we think.

Are these people committing a crime ?

Well there is a requirement for visiting foreigners to have a certain amount of money &/or enough money to support themselves, and if they are tourists, where's their follow-on airplane/travel ticket? It's not just Thailand that feels this way, many countries have the same requirement.

  4. Looks like the OP situation has been corrected, but there is something call "greedflation" that many companies are doing these days, basically they are raising their prices just because other companies are raising their prices.

The term 'greedflation' refers to a price rise introduced by companies to take advantage of inflation and boost their profit margin, even if they do not need to. Production costs have not risen enough for price increases to be justified.

I know a farang business owner here in Pattaya that sells food, when I asked him about rising prices, he just smiled and said, other businesses rising their prices, allow him to raise his prices even though his overhead costs haven't gone up.

Thanks, thats exactly my plan...just one unknown, did you use/withdraw the 800k after a few months?

Yes, after a few months of me doing monthly transfers and feeling sure about how to do it, I started using that money for other things.

One small mistake I learned about was; that time I was using that one bank account for daily shopping, cash w/d, bill payments, etc. and I didn't update my bank book right after the overseas transfer and after several weeks, all my payments, deposits, w/d got consolidated and the FTT code wasn't in my bankbook but easily obtainable from the bank.

Now I have 2 bank accounts, one only for the monthly transfers, and the other for daily transactions, less photocopying during visa extension time.

Bringing in 65, 000 a month could place you in a high tax bracket in 2025

The income tax is still a gray area and as this is pension by definition expect most countries tax treaties would exempt in any case.

I just finished my extension based on retirement last week, and when I showed the IO my bank letter with the 12 months of transfers, he asked me where does this money come from, pension or other? I replied pension,  and he asked for a letter showing, luckily I was able to produce it.
