  1. Thanks for the info. I think i will apply for the 60 day tourist visa before i go and in Thailand apply the retirement visa
  2. Thanks for your reply but i do not understand what you mean by "You cannot obtain a non O-A in Thailand" Its sounds like you are saying that the easiest way is just to arrive on a tourist visa?
  3. Visa Confusion Any help would be appreciated. I am UK citizen planning to come to Thailand mid-August and stay permanently. It looks difficult to get O-A Retirement visa before I leave so I have a few questions; 1. Can I enter on Tourist visa either 30 day or 60 day and then apply to convert to a O-A visa whilst in Thailand? a. If so will I be allowed to open a bank account to deposit the 800,000 Bht. b. Will I need a return ticket for either 30 or 60 days to enter on a tourist visa. 2. I would prefer to enter on a Non Immigrant O 90 Day Retirement Visa - Single Entry. Questions on application; a. On application it is asking for flight details – I have not booked yet as I would prefer to book once I have the visa – is there any way around this? b. On this visa is a one way ticket okay or do I have to have a return ticket to UK? c. It is asking for health insurance issued by a Thai Insurer – I have a UK company issued annual policy which covers trips up to 90 days will this be sufficient? Finally any idea of the current processing times for these applications? Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou
