  1. a day late? They have until Sunday – according to the source itself. And assuming the 16.7m dollars is the “600m” baht, it's a billion baht, or nearly 28m dollars, they are missing. Otherwise, spot on! On the other hand, 1. why should the Thais get away with paying less than other countries for coverage? This happens every 4 years, for those not familiar with the place. or 2. if this lot can chuck money around to “host” the crop of [deleted] flying in this week for the APEC nonsense, they can find a spare billion for another money-waster. 'Cos Bangkokians sure do not appreciate the chaos caused. Or perhaps the [deleted] pollie with the watches could sell a couple to finance the deal?
  2. Agree. There is no mention of the financial requirement (B400K), or of home visits or several other things that make the annual extension process so much fun. Mind, I would hesitate anyway before giving VFS (of all people) details of my bank......... Glad I am not in BKK and have just done a year's worth - can sit back and watch this pan out!
  3. in case it helps anyone, it turns out the problem is that CBA still has on its records the passport I gave at the time the a/c was opened, which has long since been renewed. Their alleged "system" can't deal with complexity like that. Even Bangkok Bank is slightly better than that...........
  4. these things all depend on individual IOs, of course, but no-one at mine has ever called me for anything. For a start, they don't have my number. Plus two officers denied I could come late when I asked them. So I'm not sure what you are adding.
  5. Guys - just in case anyone is interested, I found some "answers" from experience and pass them on: 1. do you have to present on the exact day for under consideration? Apparently so - I did so and asked what would happen if I forgot and arrived next week, but no-one in IO would understand or admit to it. "Must come this day" was all I can get. 2. despite my previous experience and those of many others on this forum, it seems now we CAN use online 90-day reporting for the first report after extension. Definitely not the case last year, but I tried and just got approved, so don't let anyone say there is no progress at all! Rgds
  6. a few times. Last time took 57 minutes. They called back and said issue was resolved. It isn't. (I mean, does any bank do anything helpful by phone?!!)
  7. Anyone else had a problem with Commonwealth Bank (CBA) demanding verification of ID, etc? I'm in TH for some time and tried to fill in the details - many times - but every time, the online program tells me I am wrong and have to visit my local branch to show ID. That won't be likely till next year but now they are saying I have to do so within 30 days. Yes I DO know my name, birthdate and ID details but program won't accept it. Does anyone have advice or workaround?
  8. thanks for this - worth trying. Like I said, I have trawled Lazada and amazon but never used the word "diverter" (among other things...). One of the related products may be ideal, cheers!
  9. Thanks. I did look for something appropriate. Now I still cannot see any "DIY forum" in the index though......
  10. I am looking for something to connect a filtration-related item to a regular kitchen tap. We have used something like this for a long time but it has worn out. I don't even know what they are called but have searched online stores endlessly. Any ideas where something like this might be found in BKK area? In a slightly wider context, the aim is to connect the doofer to the tap via a 10mm hose, so are there any other options? (ie it doesn't have to be the pictured connector if there are alternatives)
  11. I know the 90-day is flexible, I'm asking about the under consideration. If I go on the due date, it's just over 15 days before (the 90 day). And you should know that the first 90-day after a new extension has to bedone in person - or at least that was the case last year.
  12. I have searched the forums but cannot find an answer, so: re annual extension, non-O marriage. I got the usual 'under consideration' stamp inviting me to return on September 16. Do I get into trouble if I wait a couple of days? Must it be exactly that day or, like the 90-day report, up to a week after? Reason is that if I wait till 21 Sep I could do the 90-day at the same visit. Any useful comment appreciated. (IO is Samut Prakan, which I rarely find a problem except it's inconvenient to get there!).
