  1. Exactly!
  2. Any recommendations on a decent motorbike mechanic who can deal with things like cleaning transmissions and resolving issues. I was not impressed with the Yamaha main dealer and prefer a mechanic who knows his stuff and works for themselves as I find them to be more attentive. Should be able to hand manual and automatic scooters. Does anyone have any good experiences? If so, perhaps you could share the location and contact details. Thanks in advance.
  3. Most dentists in Thailand don't treat children. In the past we have been to Ram, Lanna, and McCormick hospitals but the waiting times can be long as they don't seem to have specific appointment times. We once waited at The Ram nearly 3 hours after being given an appointment time at the weekend. Needless to say that was out last visit. Also been to DentalWorld. The last one we went to was this one. We only had a check-up which was fine. Will go back there next time as I too haven't been given any recommendations. เลขที่ 174 Lampang - Chiang Mai Superhighway, Tambon Chang Phueak, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50300 https://maps.app.goo.gl/2R6mAsJdcANQNyhm8
  4. What would you encourage them to grow?
  5. Thanks Paul. Funnily enough I have eaten here before, I had the biriyani.
  6. I used to buy some tasty samosas once a week at the Sunday morning market close to my home near Promenada. Now they have stopped coming. Does anyone know where I can buy samosas early morning preferably near to me or in the city, Nong Hoi side not Chang Puek side... Wondering if the are sold early morning on the Montfort Primary School road or at some markets... Appreciate all suggestions for this and also rotis. I particularly like the ones with potato... I can't recall the name, the long fried ones with the potato in them. Does anywhere do these? Masala springs to lime but I could be wrong regarding the name. I used to eat them in Dubai. Thanks in advance.
  7. Thanks for sharing all.
  8. It is a hypothetical question, you are spot on!
  9. Why do they look on you with extra suspicion?
  10. I'm not doing anything yet, it was a hypothetical question as I couldn't see any limits on voluntary income anywhere.
  11. Yep, but I think for some visa types you can change within Thailand, others you cannot.
  12. So there is no specific income ceiling so 50,000baht per month income can be on a volunteer visa? I would have thought it would have to be a working visa at such income levels.
  13. Is there a restriction on income levels for a non-immigrant O volunteer visa in Thailand? I understand that you are not allowed to receive a salary and the income should be to cover accommodation, food, and other small expenses. I couldn't see a guideline anywhere. Obviously, accommodation costs can vary greatly so I was wondering at what point approximately, would income levels for a volunteer with a working permit, working for a foundation, become a working non-immigrant-B visa in terms of income levels if that makes sense. LOL could be a bit like how long is a piece of string.
  14. Thanks everyone, I guess replacement is the way forward for this type of item.
  15. There are so many repairs places for electronics, shoes, fans, etc, but is there anywhere that fixes car struts for car boots/trunks? I prefer fixing things rather than throwing away like I we often do in the West. One of the good things about Thailand. In England repairs often cost more than replacements. Thanks in anticipation.
  16. Has anyone done this recently?
  17. Which temple as Google maps doesn't seem to be able to locate San Sai Noi road. Thanks
  18. Can anyone recommend a mechanic who has experience fixing Miras? I got one recommendation but the place looked like it had been closed for some time. Thanks in advance
  19. Yes, as I stated in my original post, this is a person with a Thai and a UK passport leaving England for Thailand, and returning later before the UK passport expires. They have done this several times before and I am aware of the procedure. It is just the under 6 month validity in the UK passport that I wanted to make sure would not cause a problem in this scenario. From my understanding and indeed my own logic, it should be fine. Sadly, people don't always act logically. I know that you can return to your home country with an expired passport as well.
  20. I am not confusing myself, I am seeking confirmation that the scenario I described would be ok for a person who has a Thai and British passport with the latter having less than 6 months left. I know which passports are shown but I thought the airlines might still refuse if they see the British passport had less than 6 months validity, even though to me that would not make sense as the person has a Thai passport going to Thailand. Of course the arrival into England at immigration is with the UK passport and also to depart. The Thai passport is shown and check-in. Likewise the Thai passport is used to enter and depart Thailand. As for a) above, I am aware of this but I was more worried about the departure from the UK being an issue with staff, even though it should not. Regarding b) Yes, it it is the airline staff who check both passports in the UK upon check-in and the immigration staff at departure. Thanks
  21. It does according to the UK government website...
  22. OMG so sad and what a loss. My thoughts are with his family and friends. He was extremely knowledgeable and helped me. RIP.
  23. @ubonjoe maybe you in your wisdom can help on this. Thanks in advance as always.
  24. So, you are saying in the exact circumstances I have described, that there is no issue even though they entered the UK on their UK passport? I such an instance won't why depart England on their UK Passport? In which case, is it their UK passport that is checked for this 6 month rule or the destination country, in which case of the person has citizenship, like in this case, it would not matter as they are legally entitled to enter Thailand on their Thai passport.. Also, upon return to the UK, on a passport less than 6 months its still ok as they are also a UK citizen, of that makes sense?
