  1. No mention of a 3rd jab. I wonder if a combination of sinovac/AZ plus 3rd jab of AZ/Pfizer/Moderna would meet the criteria?
  2. When should you submit your extension? Last year I submitted mine early and they didn't start the 12 months taking into account my expiry date so effectively I think my visa expiry was something like 22 Dec but they gave me the extension until 23 November so I lost out on about 1 month. The money isn't so much annoying (11 months vs 12) as much as the time being short-changed. Is there a way to prevent this? Was what they did the normal way of doing extensions? They advised people to come early due to all the covid issues so I did but then it appears I got "shafted!." Reminds me of the time I arrived with a 3 month visa and they stamped me on arrival at the airport for just one month. I had to visit Immigration and go through all the hassle of getting them to admit their mistake and correct it. As I am coming up for my renewal again, I'm wondering when I should submit if my expiry date is 23 November for example. If I submit one week before do I get an extension or will I have to leave the country by 23rd November if my visa hasn't been processed by then? Thanks in advance TV members.
  3. I've read quite a few articles on here relating to fixed one year contracts that have been renewed and employee entitlements over severance but it doesn't seem to be clear to me, hence the post. Note this post isn't for teachers where I understand different rules may apply depending on whether the teacher works for a government school or private one. 1) It is my understanding that it's quite common for foreigners to be offered 1 year contracts that are renewed each year. The question is are these contracts for a fixed term temporary and therefore do not entitle the employee to any sort of severance/redundancy benefits that an open contract would do? Some of the posts I read state that successive one year contracts in effect treat the person as an employee. Further if the role within the contract continues after the expiry of say the second 1-year contract then the person is entitled to severance, and if so under what exact conditions? Grateful for any advice and experiences from fellow members. 2) Furthermore, if the the first year contract expires but a new one isn't offered upon the expiry date but the person still continues to work, would the answer to 1) be any different? Thanks in advance.
  4. Need to get these for return to school and wondered where you can get reliable kits from. Will probably need a few dozen. Thanks in advance.
  5. One win doesn't beat an Empire. "Smaller in number we are but larger in mind"
  6. Congratulations to the US team on a dominant performance. All a little bit disappointing from a neutral's perspective and viewing perspective. I prefer the tension and close endings to matches personally. But hey I like winning too!
  7. Thinking we need to have a change of scenery for a couple of days. Camping could be an option but there's been a lot of rain lately. Any recommendations on where to go within about a 2 hour drive or so? Be good if there were some things for kids to do! Fed up of being couped in the house. Thanks in advance
  8. Enjoy your anticipated victory. USA have been much better this time. We Europeans are gracious in winning and defeat ???? You can't win them all and we've had a helluva run over the last 20 years ????
  9. Still all to play for....but another day today like yesterday and the fat lady will be warming up her vocals. Thankfully we have football (note not soccer)to distract us a bit if we are drowning in our sorrows.
  10. Watching at home doesn't feel the same as watching it in a bar............

  14. What is the best for scooters for use in the city and wet weather or is it a case of whichever one fits your bike as they are all about the same?
  15. Plaza 89, Nong Hoi opposite side of the road to Bangkok Bank, Lanna Jok (or Jok Lanna). It's a small temporary place beside the road with chairs and tables, you can't miss it. I tried to add the google maps link here but Thaivisa doesn't allow it - it says the API project is not authorised to use this API whatever that means - question for the mods I guess. I hope this helps. Jok Somphet you can google on google maps.
  16. Besides the well known Jok Somphet restaurant and the food van at plaza 89 which I know about, can anyone share any other recommendations with locations please. Thanks in advance.

  20. Wondered if any places were showing the Ryder Cup and if so where? It's in America so tee off times seem to be around 7pm here for Friday and Saturday and 11pm on Sunday for the singles.
  21. Is anyone else experiencing very slow speeds with 3BB? I'm based in Chiang Mai if that makes a difference.... Thanks in advance. Best regards
  22. agreed, no issue with that just don't like the fact that the government only recognise vaccinations administered in the UK, Europe or US.
  23. Update - I decided to go for the 400k option as the monthly one seems too long winded and a lot more paperwork. I've now deposited the money 2.5 months before my application. How long do I need to leave the money in there after submitting my application? I read on the forum that it Is it 3 months after submission or 3 months after receiving the new visa? I did check the Immigration website (below) but it didn't mention any time limit. It just says you have to show 400k in your bank 2 months before (nothing about afer). https://www.immigration.go.th/en/?p=14714#604c3aeba1b968fad Thanks in advance.
