  1. Didn't the Thai ambassador bring a declaration of war to Secretary Hull (the USA's secretary of state, foreign affairs minister), and Hull ignored it?

If I recall correctly, the Thai Ambassador refused to deliver it to Secretary Hull.

  2. You got the e-mail too.......

I am flying to BKK from LAX on Sept 7th via EVA, one of the better airlines that I have flown in regards to comfort, food sucks though. Got a round trip ticket for $870 USD a few weeks back. With all the mileage that I have including this upcoming trip, I hoping I can get a good deal for my fiancee once I have her K-1 visa approved, hopefully around X-mas.

  3. I've suffered on and off for many years with IBS. It seems to be worse here than back in England. Would be very grateful for suggested remedies.

Funny that you say you suffer from it more in LOS than back home. Just the opposite for me. I have Crohn's Disease and when I am back here in the states, it's murderous on me but when I am abroad, no problems at all. I have been back in the states for almost 7 months now and have had 3 flare ups, sucks big time. I attribute it to the crap in the food here and the stress of being back in the states.

  4. If you want to show that you have an income or pension from outside the country, you must show a document from your home country’s embassy indicating the amount of the income or pension, but this is may be difficult because some embassies don't consider this their responsibility

For Americans this is actually very easy....I was told that the USA embassy is the only one that does this but I walked in off the street without a sherd of proof and siad how much I made and the embassy notarized it on my word and I was done in 15 minutes with no prep work.

Interesting, I'll have to keep that in mind.

I see that you're in Isaan.........I'll be in Surin in a few weeks.

  5. Doesn't surprise me at all....

Back in November of last year while up in Isaan, I helped my fiancee's niece (age 15) with her English homework.

The questions were not even written in proper English for crying out loud. :D

When I figured out what the question were, I had her work out the answer and she got them all correct. Well, a few weeks later, I heard from my fiancee that her niece did not get any of the questions correct on the homework assignment. I was furious because they were correct and the teacher had no freaking idea what the he!! she was doing.

This is one reason why I would love to be able to teach English up in Isaan, although it would be American English. :o

  6. Need an assist here. If anyone is nearby Lamduan or Krasang, please let me know.

I am getting a wee bit worried about my fiancee and her family. My fiancee took her dad to Cambodia last Friday due to the death of his brother. We figured that we would be out of touch for a few days but it will be a week tomorrow and I am worried. Her mom stayed back and I cannot get in touch with her on her cell. Appreciate any assistance.

Which one.......Krasang is 25km's west of Surin, Lamduan 25km's east. There are TV members in both towns.

Lamduan to be exact. If anyone of them could just swing by to check on her mom and then see if my fiancee and her dad made it to Cambodia OK.

  8. I've done a search and can't find anything that really addresses this.

Since I work under the table, I don't have any proof of income and I don't own a home. So my mother will be providing the letter of sponsorship/support.

Should we just out and say she is my girlfriend and we will be staying with my mom? Or should my mom leave me out of the letter all together?

For what country is she to be immigrating to?

To USA. At this point we're just trying to get her a tourist Visa. My mom said she was willing to do whatever she could to help out.

I didn't think a fiance or marriage visa would work out because of my lack of proof of financial support for her. Don't get me wrong. I work and I've been on my own since I was 18. It's just that I don't have any tax returns for the last couple years. So I'm wondering if my mom should leave me out of the letter altogether for now....Or not? I don't know what would be best. I realize the more important part is showing that my GF will return to Thailand, but we're hoping the letter will help some.

K, check out this site, your answers will be there...............Chok Dee!!

  9. Contact this attorney...

What in the OP’s post gave you the impression that he, respectively his girl friend, needs the services of an attorney?

    --

    Maestro

Because an attorney who specializes in US immigration can give him some insight as to how they should deal with the issue at hand, she is a former bar girl, just what the OP stated.

If he lies about it on his petition, she can be banned from entering the US for a long period of time. Deal with it up front with the advice of someone who has dealt with these situations.

    Does that answer your question?

  10. Well the main question i have is that my fiance is a former bar girl and i know that if she says that then the visa issue is probably dead in the water. Her old boss owns several "ligitimate" shops and is willing to show that she worked at one of these. Now I also know that if we are caught lying that it is also dead in the water. She has never been arrested, but is it better to take the chance and use the fake job, or will they still allow her if she states she worked there but was not involved. After all it's not illegal to work there. Please no warnings about the dangers of getting involved with a bar girl. I love her and if i have to I'll even move to thailand. I just hope it doesn't come to that. Its a visa to America by the way. any advice is appreciated.

  12. Doubble click the Speaker icon in the quick-launc, in the upcoming menu go to OPTIONS and than PROPERTIES. If the Microphone is unchecked, check it and remove the check mark by the microphone on the equalizer. If this didn't work, check the BIOS settings of the computer

May need to check the "Advanced" tab for the soundcard properties to see what is in there too.......

Got Linux on my laptop so trying to go from memory.

  13. I am intrigued by the concept that if you go & volunteer at a local school 1 day a week that they will issue you a residence permit & a work permit. I guess one needs to show up on a non imm visa.

The OP seems to have some issues with work ethic.

i'm sure whoever told you that can also tell me where the money tree grows and why pink elephants can fly.

LOL............found a money tree in BKK:

Working on the "pink elephant" theory though. :o

  14. Hello everybody....

Is it possible to get a normal METER TAXI from this new fantastic airport to Silom Rd.?

which exit would I have to take and is there a booth like at Don Muang Airport?

    Thanks in advance for info

    Mic

In November, I paid 270 Baht plus 50 Baht for airport fee for a metered taxi to Kahosan Rd.

  15. As I told Hastings yesterday at the request of a friend from Another Forum you are being ripped off big style.

I will not bother to repest myself here.

THink and look at the wider picture my friend before its to late

Hi macb, did you happen to see my other post within this thread? Not getting ripped at all, it is just a matter of "wants" vs "needs". She knows the difference, now. ;- )
