  1. As the title says, my question is, are online 90 day checks approved during weekends? I know immigration is closed during the weekends, but will the online requests still be handled? My deadline is on the 12th, that's this Sunday, and as of now, my status is still pending somehow. It usually takes 2 days for me, never longer, but this time, right when it might become a problem if they wait longer, they actually did wait longer...
  2. This was a good chance to use irrelephant
  3. You might assume there's at least someone in the bank who knows every detail of this. But that person doesn't provide any details about it and leaves everyone in the dark. The other day I saw some Q/A about this case, and all I got from it were very good Q's, but all the A's came down to: Just fill it in. Without any other information provided. If there's one thing I've learned in Thailand after 10 years it's: Do I really have to do it? Yes. Is it necessary? No. Should I do it? Up to you. Will it bring me trouble? Not really, maybe yes, maybe no.
  4. I think this is the reason you didn't receive a request to fill it in. Maybe it's just a case of whether your bank had a connection with an overseas bank or not? I need to do a good check whether I had or not. As far as I remember I haven't, other than being abroad once.
  5. You have to remember that this is Thailand, haha. They often assume things, because I'm a foreigner. But, I do remember traveling abroad this year, and getting money from an ATM. Could this have triggered them then?
  6. Hmm, I think after checking this topic for a while now, they've just sent this to everyone, in case it applies to you. They assume, as a foreigner, we send and receive money from abroad. They expect everyone to fill it in, so they can detect if someone is doing something illegal, but if you haven't filed it in and not doing anything illegally, it won't be a big deal as there's no money transferred across the borders. But later once you want to do this, you might run into some more paperwork, I guess.
  7. So, this is all purely because of overseas income, right?
  8. Yes, I do. The only reason is, I'm really not good with tax stuff. So, I don't want to fill in stuff I don't know about. Or share anything that I don't know will be shared without me knowing it.
  9. So, they send it to everyone they think it's necessary for. But if you don't have anything connected to any other country, it won't be necessary to fill in? They won't make a big deal out of this?
  10. The thing is....I don't have anything foreign anymore. Why am I supposed to do this all? Besides my Dutch passport, I own nothing abroad, no address, no bank accounts, nothing.
  11. They'll go home, go on with their daily business, and expats living here will be left with the stereotype😭
  12. And anyone any idea what exactly will be shared? As I'm really bad at tax stuff, can someone explain this to me as if I were 10 years old? I personally don't mind that something will be shared, but I at least would like to know what exactly, or else my personal information will be shared without my knowledge, which is something no one should be comfortable with.
  13. I actually think it's just like usual. Crackdown this, crackdown that, strict looking warnings, but no action in the end. When you just came to Thailand it's scary. Later it's just confusing, and in the end you're not even paying attention anymore. If this is nothing again, I'll enter that 3rd stage. I still hope for an answer from anyone. I have totally no adress or any income from abroad. I'm Dutch but living here for over 10 years. Would it really be necessary to do this? It seems strict, but not strict at the same time. It's inconvenient for me to go there and wait in line as I'm a busy person. Also don't trust sending it by email.
  14. I don't have a foreign address as I'm living here for +10 years. And I haven't worked abroad for that time as well. Any idea why I've got an email from them?
  15. Me too actually. The only thing is that all the way at the end of the form they mention that if you don't do it, the bank will stop providing its service to you. They mention it all the way at the end of the form. However, what they say at the bank is not that strict actually. Not sure if it's just me, but always if something has to be done here, they make it as unclear as possible.
  16. Can anyone help me out here? I'm from the Netherlands, but living in Thailand for 10+ years. I haven't been back there since. I have almost no ties with the Netherlands anymore and all that I have is here in Thailand. Is this all really necessary to do?
  17. Sounds like a naked magician. But what if he won't disappear? Women and children are almost always around.
  18. Found the guy from the story^^^^
  19. Sorry to say, but they could be. I've seen foreigners, fully consciously, tipping 1k for something that was actually like 150 THB or so.
  20. If I would visit there, I would pay what they ask. If you're living somewhere almost longer than you've lived in your native country, and still need to pay the extra 'few measly THB' and singled out from your family, group of friends etc, you've to understand that that's bs
  21. Racist, yes, because my Asian (non Thai) friends can get in for the Thai price. If not racist, it's discrimination. However, I do understand to ask tourists a certain price. But I've been living here for 10+ years and able to read Thai. Plenty of times I've seen things such as: คนไทย๑๐บาท Foreigners 200 THB Tourists who don't know any Thai will just pay, but if you point it out in Thai and still get to hear to pay the foreign price, it's a smack in the face after so much effort from some people to be just like everyone else in Thailand. + expats also pay income tax. Last time I've read that the airport arrival tax is for everyone except who can prove to have lived here with a wp. Why not in these cases of national parks etc?
  22. Sometimes there's double pricing on food too. I'll watch someone filming herself eating on YouTube. It's not the same experience.
  23. Idea is good, however, it should be, the longer you stay, the closer it will get to the Thai price.
  24. How long are you living here? It's not about the money. It's about people who live here for about 10+ years, who have a family and all, then being singled out and made pay more. That's just ridiculous. Tourists, whatever, but expats should just pay like the Thai, or well, maybe at least a discount compared to the tourist prices. Easy to check, just show a wp.
