  1. So this indicates that some passport control points and/or officials use different systems/criteria and/or discretion than others e.g. central/bkk vs. upcountry, phuket vs. ban nok or aranyaprathet vs. nongkhai etc? I guess that may well be the case for visa exempt entry too ????
  2. Well I'm one of the 'few' on here who (admit) to being denied & no I didn't have the cash or onward ticket on me so definitely didn't help my case ???? So I totally understand why OP is trying to maximise his chance of getting in after his previous denial because in most likelihood we'll never get the real reason behind actual denials & the more frequent 'interviews'.
  3. This embassy info from Cambodia seems to be more clear/precise or reasonable than the more ambivalent and/or between bank balance/income & retirement status (letter) for Laos which isn't even required for in country extensions so why would it be outside? ????
  4. I believe the various requirement of seasoned money months before/after applying for extension would NOT apply for the multi Non O probably even the 400/800k amounts does not fully apply either? Anyway my concern is with the thai bank/foreign thailand bank/any bank more than the amount though but happy with the info we have so far by the kind contributors ????
  5. Exactly that was my key reason for travelling too ????
  6. Awesome BritTim. So now my next visa plan is almost settled happily ???? However a last technicality about the bank since I believe for in country extensions the money needs to be in a Thai bank & proven by bankbook print outs. So hopefully 'normal statements' of THB non bankbook account (foreign bank in thailand) also accepted we will see ???????? At least I'm looking forward to a Laos trip again and even isan ????
  7. Thanks for info Dr. Jack & I assumed so by simply ticking that 'multi' box & paying the 5000 ???? However will they accept the 'money in bank document' (bank balance/deposit) rather than their only listed option of 'income proof' (embassy or bank proven)?
  8. I also like the Savannakhet office as have used in the past for multi O with the marriage certificate & thai id card as main documents to get the yearly visas. However now divorced but 50 years + I'm wondering if I can use the 800,000 thb savings in a bank statement option as I don't have any pension income document although I'm not from US/UK/AU... Or is there another consulate/embassy I should rather visit for my case as I prefer to avoid the in country extension but may at least initially need a single non O option anyway? Thanks guys for all your assistance :)
