There was one post that somebody made that I reported and was hidden from view, because it was so venomous, spiteful and so far OTT that it should never have been written, let alone posted. It doesn't surprise me that Bob left after reading it, which I'm sure he would have. I saw similar when the pack was chasing after GG, some of the comments went way beyond what is reasonable and were designed to hurt and nothing more. But because it's the pub and posters want to express themselves and have light moderation, those posts were left in place.

 

Do you see the problem here.

I think what can happen is that, in the heat of the moment, people sometimes snap and go over the top. You see it in real life all the time too. And then people need to be reeled back in when it happens. And when it happens their posts should just be deleted. I think after having their posts removed they will get the picture and not do it again. Others consistently take things too far and need to be stopped from posting completely. I have moderated a number of online communities myself and have taken down posts and accounts for a lot less than what is permitted to go on here. Anyway, it is what it is, it is often the nature of online communities and, as I said in my previous post, nobody should take any of this stuff personally or too seriously. 
 

In regards to Bob, I doubt it was any one post that caused Bob to leave. I think he left for various reasons. Possibly one being that he seemed so dissatisfied with life, and wasn't finding an audience that wanted to bash things with him or even agreed at all. So maybe he just had enough of being around posters who didn't share his sentiment. Maybe he also felt AN was adding to his negative feelings and best to just cut it all off. He was recently talking a lot about needing to take a new direction. So it wouldn't surprise me. 
 

But maybe he will be back after he has had some time to reflect. And, as I said earlier, I would more than welcome him back. Hopefully he will read some of these positive posts and understand that nobody really disliked him and that we would like to see him back if that is what he wants at some point. I already miss his dark humor! I am speaking for myself of course, but presumably many others feel the same. 👍🏼

Bob is as British as they get. Almost every post he makes contains a British idiom. Sometimes I have to look them up because I'm not even familiar with all the native British expressions he uses. But it's horses for courses innit. Cheerio mates.

On a different note, I find it very amusing that you seem to find it necessay to regularly refer to your wealth.  Yesterday it was attending a very expensive gym - not just a gym like anyone else would have said, with you it has to be an expensive gym. Today you state the total of your wealth.  Maybe that makes you feel good but it shouldn't - most of us know that people with wealth don't normally talk about it and laugh at your outbursts Mr. Loadsamoney.

 

The chances that you are actually a broke guy who's heading home because his money's run out are pretty high.

Nobody would really talk or brag about any of the inane things he spews about. That's how we all know it's just fictional writing for his own self personification. He probably lives somewhere in the north of England. Perhaps he had lived in Thailand at one time many years ago and, thus has some knowledge of life in the country. He's likely retired, on a low pension, lonely, without much resources to do anything other than sit at home other than to try and come up with fantastical stories, and troll the Internet.

He's got all the help he's ever gonna need or get. It comes in 16 ounce bottles and he seeks it's help on an hourly basis. It impairs cognitive function, slows reaction times, disrupts neurotransmitter balance, affects memory formation and recall, and in the long term, contributes to brain shrinkage and cognitive decline. It also leads to the risk of confusion, indecision, depression and anxiety. So he's already clearly gotten all those benefits. Lifting the bottles often enough is also known to trigger growth of the bicep muscle, but for some reason he hasn't seen any of that benefit thus far. Perhaps he's using a drinking straw?
