  1. After 25 years I very sadly realised that the combination of a lying wife and confused, predatory immigration practises made my living in "the land of smiles" a bad dream! I've spent every cent buying and updating 10 rai of land, 3 houses, cars and tractors only to find that the "wife" doesn't want to sign a lease for the house (to give some security)! A corrupt immi Major who wont sign a visa application (even after paying the fee) because he wanted a 15k grease! Extra requirements on 90 day reports (maps, financial reports, tea money) Time to go back to the nanny state (Australia) where the voters re-elected a party who wants to tax unclaimed capital gains!! At least the Ozy government pays its bills (unlike you-know where) I have friends who have been waiting 3 months for contracted money to be paid by the PEA! So sad.
  2. Shock horror! "Soiled doves" find compliant men among the males in Thailand? Impossible!
  3. I like to ask the security guys..."caught anyone yet?" Today? This month? This year?
  4. You don't say what you were wearing? Was it appropriate to where you were travelling? Maybe an email to the fashion police might have been the "proper" response?
  5. I didn't know the two entry thing had gone, terrific! Does that mean you can do back to back tourist entries????
  6. Baden-Powell knew that the British Army would need skilled "scouts" in the future, his experience in war had shown a desperate need! A militaristic patriotic organisation seemed to fit the bill! The Thai government knew what they needed and knew the young people needed the discipline! The ideals of the Boy Scout movement install good morals and an understanding of ethical behaviour, it's not the kids that fail to pass on the message...it's the teachers!
  7. His mother spoiled him, perhaps a short talk with his dad should sort him out?
  8. No police...of course! UK pollies are as strong as a little girls wet blouse!
  9. Same day, same horror! At least it made a headline!
  10. Same day, same corruption! What change is this?
  11. What's in it for me, besides sand??? Doing it in water never works!!!!
  12. You obviously have never dealt with Immi police!
  13. Who or what gives you the right to trumpet this nonsense, the US killed Gadafi because he wanted to sell crude for other than USD, they killed Hussien because he didn't want haliburton to own Irac oil, they hate Kim because he wont lie down for the US, they hate Putin because he wants to sell oil and gas to europe for lower prices thus cutting American oil companies out of some profits...In my opinion I think Iran is right calling the USA the "great satan" , every policy decion they have made in the last 100 years has hurt the world!
  14. In the middle of August I presented to Phrae Immigration to renew my retirement visa( which was due on the 26th of September). After filling out the paperwork, complying with the local requirements, photo's around my house, map of the area and evidence of my overseas assets the staff presented my passport to the O.I.C. of Phrae immigration for signature... he refused to sign! He said he would not sign until I showed a letter from my embassy showing proof of income! His staff pointed out that my embassy did not give letters anymore and there was nothing wrong! He still refused to sign, saying that he only recognised 800 thousand in the bank and continued to ignore repeated statements from his staff and other staff from immigration officers in the area! The upshot is; the Phrae office had to over stamp my new visa's as "void" refund my money and suggest "tongue in cheek" that I use a nominated "agent"! Chiang Wattana said they could not help and if I had a complaint then I could bring it to the head of Immigration in Phrae (the man who started the problem) As I couldn't renew my visa in Phrae nor would Chiang Wattana allow me to renew my visa there I was forced to leave the country...any advice would be appreciated!
