My name, surname, and date of birth are obviously the same, the account is in my name only, but the bank has the new passport, while the SIM is still registered with the old passport.

Are all these phone number verifications and facial recognition only necessary if you use the bank app? I really don't want to travel 100+100 km for something that's unnecessary, both facial recognition and the Passport SIM update, if they're only connected to the bank app. Since I don't use it, I haven't even installed it on my phone. The phone I use is an old one. If I lose it, it won't be a drama at all.

When I travel I have a colour laminated copy of the pp and visa status, plus all my passport pages photos on my phone. Until now, was ok when they stopped me, even if happened only once in BKK.

I've always been a Thanachart customer. I opened my first account in 2007. Then, when that branch closed, I closed it and opened a new one in 2018, with a work permit and a Non-O visa. In the last four years, my account has been blocked twice: twice for simple updates to my details. Both times, the message appeared at the ATM. However, I could withdraw money directly from the bank, via my bankbook. The last update was for passport renewal, two years ago. There too, the ATM was blocked for three days, but I could withdraw money by going to the bank.

I read about this facial recognition feature that many are required to do, but I also read that the message reaches those who have the bank's app. So I assume it's something that those who use the bank's app are required to do. My question, ultimately, is this: I've never used the app; I've never received a call from the bank, a text message, an email, or any alerts when I use the ATM. Does this mean I'm exempt from doing so?

I was thinking the same thing. Does the fact that motorbikes cannot use it, apply to all underpasses in the Kingdom?

The underpass on Sukhumvit is prohibited for scooters, as there is a sign indicating this. But I still see people using it all the time: is this because T.I.T or because there are no checkpoints anyway?

The police headquarters does not release the reason to the Embassy and so I called my lawyer in France: it seems that if 5 years pass without anyone having an identity card, it is reported to the Police Headquarters and the name remains in the system until you have a new identity card. Whether that's true or not, I don't know.

I know it's not a drama, but I would like to know one thing: I charged someone's cell phone for 200 thb with the promise of being refunded... but still nothing. With the phone number and proof of top-up, I can report the person, go to true and have them deactivate the number.
