Hey everyone,
I am currently in Vietnam and I am planning to travel to Thailand through Laos by the end of November. I would like to get a 60 day Tourist Visa before I actually enter Thailand and I am wondering what my best option would be considering the travel history in my passport.
During the pandemic I had 3 "Covid Extensions" and I also entered several times on Visa Exempt stamps which I extended, though I have never spent more than 180 days in a calendar year in Thailand.
If it helps, here's the "Thailand history" in my passport:
2021
60 day Tourist Visa, entered 18 July 2021
30 day Tourist Visa Extension
30 day Covid Extension
30 day Covid Extension
..stayed in Thailand for a total of 167 days in 2021
2022
30 day Covid Extension, left 8 March 2022
30 day Visa Exemption, entered 23 May 2022
30 Day Visa Exemption Extension, left 21 July 2022
30 Day Visa Exemption, entered 27 Aug 2022, left 1 Sept 2022
..stayed in Thailand for a total of 133 days in 2022
2023
30 Day Visa Exemption, entered 28 June 2023
30 Day Visa Exemption Extension, left 25 Aug 2023
..stayed in Thailand for a total of 59 days in 2023
I was planning to go to Savannakhet, but I have read reports that they are getting very strict there about issuing Tourist Visas. Am I better off going to Vientiane (which would be much further from where I am currently)?
I know this might be a bit of a grey area, but I also sometimes thought about applying for an E-Visa and using an onward-ticket service for the ticket from my home country to Thailand, then just use the E-Visa to enter via a land border. Has anyone here ever done this?
