    That's great news, Gekko!

Could you give some detail on exactly how it works, like for example, how did you use JamScam to pay AseanNow for publishing your cunningly disguised advertising?

we need to support ASEAN why not? support those who support us. Why would you be so hostile or angry?

People build something and you just feel anger ? Jealous? not sure

many sites around the world popping up www.jamjang.com.au and www.jamjang.co.uk and www.jamjang.de in germany and more you go to Thailand you will see how it works if you not in Thailand no point to talk about this.

First in the world app to allow you to pay with your phone in Thailand and this is not add but sharing with people knowledge.

    Info on Youtube?
Enter jamjang and see tribal people dancing around poles or so.

Tried hard to find substantial info on the magic thing.

Seems to be some topup/prepaid thing?

Without a proper website/how to/FAQ I will not touch this app.

yes this is in Africa hehe one day we will donate money there hehe 😉 Any way this is true apparently many youtubers talk about it just need to find links

The Thai QR code payment system has a few shortcomings, such as no options for foreigners without a Thai bank account and relying on buggy and slow banking apps. Even WeChat pay and AliPay in China can be used by foreigners, although with considerable difficulty in setting it up. But at least that system is fast - faster than taking cash, even if exact change.

The problem with being able to link a credit card to the Thai QR code payment system is that you could pay someone in cash using credit. Banks don’t want that because it creates a system where you would be paying the bank back with its own money. There’s also the issue of who would pay the transaction fees.

From the Bangkok Bank app there seems to be something called prompt pay international, and you can possibly pay from a Singaporean account using one of their banking apps.

So what it will take is for foreign banks to join the prompt pay international system. That seems unlikely.

So absent some fintech solution that is foreigner friendly, it’s going to get rocky for people without Thai bank accounts.

@Everyman you are correct but world is moving fast and this is not the case now about few weeks ago there is new app jamjang i was skeptical but after people posting videos on youtube all over i thought why not to try and its works all the time 24/7 you can pay with the app and no need any bloody thai bank account apparently australian and thai company is behind it

I beg to differ. Your definition of cashless isn't what people normally think of as cashless.

Cashless means not involving the use of cash in any way. Using cash to purchase a card and getting cash back at the end isn't what people think of when "cashless" is meant. You're still exchanging cash for something, in this case a card.

Money in your bank account isn't cash.

So if you're using PromptPay to pay for food at a food court, then yes, that's truly cashless.

you are correcy however jamjang app allow all tourists pay with their phones hustle free

  5. Dear People who would you use? I am supporter of AIS but what are your experiences? Would you say that network its super fast in Thailand ? Which provided would you chose? For example when I use e-SIM this is slow and sometimes when i try to validate my Thai Phone number in different apps this does not work however when you buy proper card it does always work. What are your experiences? Thank you 🙏

  6. BLACKMORES I am happy to bring some to CNX end of January hehe I am in Australia and here super cheap - only when on 50% discount in Woolworth. Sometimes I take for my friends as gifts spending 300-500 aud so if anyone need let me know I am new to cnx traveling back and forth cheers!

  7. I have read all posts and can see that this is real problem. I have experienced same challenges e.g. in Chiang Mai in shopping centre with friends we were hungry as we were not able to buy anything with plastic cards or cash. But to our surprise there were super kind Thai people who offered to help and paid for us with their QR codes and I simply give them cash + tips to say Thank you. Any way nice read all above - just too much "fighting" about cashless society haha which was in fact not a topic of this thread

the big 4/5* places pay commission believe it or not of up to 50%

Why people can not book directly when they call you? Would you give better prices for myself for example when I would like to book directly from you?

  9. Agoda we have to remember is run by foreign owners they are charging predatory commissions even Thai people complaign about this. The best is to negotiate directly with the owner... I am living in Chiang Mai from time to time. Can help if anyone need help cheers !
