  1. My dog is on the fit side, we live in a hot and humid climate for most of the year in the USA. Yeah, the new local bacteria may be an issue. How sick was your dog? I don't know if we have quarantine here in the USA. I understand it may not be worth it if I'm not there permanently, but 6 months still feels like a long time to be away from my dog. I will have to reconsider the length of my travel, and maybe keep my trip down to 3 months while my dog stays at home.
  2. Thanks for the replies. Hopefully I can stay for 6 months, I feel that is a long time to leave my dog with someone else at a kennel, but perhaps it is a better option now looking at the requirements. She is used to tropical climate, so I don't think weather would be an issue. I would stay in Phuket and rent a small home with a yard if I brought her with me.
  3. Hi all. I am interested in going back to Thailand for 3-6 months (depending on the Visa I get), and want to bring my dog with me. My dog is approximately 45 pounds, so I don't know if I can bring her on a plane with me. I have heard of companies that help take care of all the paperwork and shipping, not sure which ones are legit. Does anyone have advice on the best way to do this, who to contact? Any help is appreciated.
  4. Thank you all for your help, I appreciate it. I booked a place for 6 days, and provided them with the hotel's receipt they sent to my email. Completed my application yesterday on Sunday. My status reads Processing Pending Document Check (1). Approximately how long does it take to receive my visa?
  5. Hi, I have a couple questions about proof of accommodation in Thailand. I am from the USA, applying for a tourist visa online, and not sure where I will be staying while I am in Phuket. I figured I would rent a place for a week before I travel, and then see where I wanted to stay for longer while I was there and book it in person. I will probably stay outside of Phuket as well for a couple of weeks, but will have to wait till I am there to figure it out. The online application is requesting proof of accommodation. My questions are: 1. Do I need to show them proof of accommodation for the entire 60 days I will be there? 2. Can I book a place for a week or two, and tell them I plan on visiting other areas and hotels, but do not currently have that information? 3. If I choose Recreation learning (muay thai) as my reason for visit, do I have to provide proof from the gym I will be training at? Basically would like to know the best way to provide proof of accommodation, without having to commit to the same hotel for my entire stay. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
