  1. Qualified teacher? Are you a good teacher? Your comments are full of anger, half truths and plain lies. How can you be a good teacher? Stay away from my kids.
  2. A lot of Americans have a very poor understanding of their own language. I"ve given up listening to contempary music, full of 'aint's', female dogs, f's every 5 seconds and so on. Must be the no-child-left-behind policies. As I said earlier, Filipino teachers are in higher demand in Thailand than American teachers, and for a good reason. Americans don't travel much, but if they do and teach abroad, they expect their students to know the American football rules, celebrate the 4th of July, and even enjoy Halloween. https://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/limited-english-proficient-population-united-states-2013 https://www.popularmechanics.com/science/a43469569/american-iq-scores-decline-reverse-flynn-effect/
  3. Has never trained to teach? Could you tell me what that means? You mean 'was', instead of 'has'?
  4. Do you have temper issues? And of course is that my opinion. Isn't it factual that most Americans only speak 1 language? Wouldn't you agree that when you want to teach a subject, you should understand the learning process behind it? Exactly, so we agree now. I fail to see why you would get all upset about that.
  5. Most native speakers are terrible English teachers, as they have never learned a foreign language themselves. Like a coding teacher who has never turned on a computer. I prefer non native or Pilipino teachers for my children.
  6. Yingluck said 'overcome' to Obama when she welcomed him in Bangkok. Thaksin? His daughter? All studied in the Us, and all speak pigeon English.
  7. Very useful. My wife works for an international company in Bkk, and is pulling in a salary I can only dream of. How about those working in tourist related businesses. Learning English ican pull peopke out of poverty.
  8. The real dummies are those who do not understand that English is spoken everywhere in the world and Thai only around Bangkok.
  9. Maybe 10% of the population can afford international schools.
  10. Thais lovevAmerican movies, English music and Bangkok is the most visited city in the world. One would think there are enough incentives to learn English. On individual level, learning newclanguages could pull people out of poverty. The real reason of the low efficiency, and that of Math and Science (TIMMS and PISA tests), is that Thais have never learned to take responsibilty for their actions. E.g., the no fail policies in schools. Learning a new language is difficult and takes effort. I learned 4 languages in school, and if I wouldn't study for my tests, I would stay seated.
  11. @admin: is it allowed to use my name in his continuous attacks on me and others? What is wrong with this (presumable) guy? It might be wise to close this topic, as I feel the next barrage of insults coming. Thank you.
  12. Manipulation? How so? Care to explain how that works?
  13. Excuse my ignorance, but what does STFU mean?
  14. How old are you? My children use emojis. Yes, your remarks about Thai and gay people make you a bigot. To say I'm stalking you is absurd. I don't know where you live, and I want to keep it that way. You are posting on a public forum, what do you expect would happen? Sigh......
  15. I called you a village alcoholic, not your family of course. When you write nonsense like "I have been here for 20 years". "I live in the real Thailand". " I know Thai culture better than anyone", just as reference to some of your comments. You know what I noticed? You are arguing with most members here. A sour old man, is that what you are? Cheer up man, have another drink.
  16. Greedy, TiT? Maybe you haven't travelled much, but hotels everywhere in the world raise their prices in high season. Your racist TIT remark holds no ground.
  17. Oh dear, Quake is making fun of gay people. Some people might call you a bigot.
  18. Same as last year. the Jellies come too early. They are supposed to come in April/May. Maybe because of all these shrimp farms dumping their waste in the ocean. There are 4 shrimp farms near to the beach I live and they all dump their waste in the ocean.
  19. I don't think authorities can prove their wrongdoings.
  20. True, but rules are rules. When the country you choose to live in has these stupid rules (like immigration), you should follow them. If not, move to another country. We are guests, and should behave like that. Stay under the radar, abide to the common rules. Quite simple, though ploughing my way through all the insults I get, the alcohol ban must be touching a sensitive spot. Friendly advice for the Dinsdales, Quakes and all other loudmouths: https://aathailand.org/ Have a nice day
  21. Another insult. Alcoholism must be a serious problem among some of the members. Do you have anything to contribute, or you just like to call people snobs?
  22. No, I am not a bot nor am I a nasty person. Language? It was you using several insults in your comments to support your 'I'm more Thai than the Thais' claim. You live in Issan? Good for you. Maybe you can eat insects with stivcky rice and bamboo salad with your Thai drinking buddies. Do you know how do the Thais call foreigners who like to hangout with village alcoholics? 'Ban nok' or 'kee niaow' farang. BTW, how is your Honda Shadow these days?
  23. And there it is, the I-live -in-the real-Thailand chestnut. I doubt it, as your understanding of local customs and traditions is sub-par at best. Imbibing liberally? I don't drink alcohol.
  24. Yes, there is. Customs form an important component of what we call 'culture'. And one of the customs is to not to drink alcohol on religious days, whether you like it or not. Why do you think I don't understand Thais? Have we met, or are you drunk already?
