  1. Yes I have been busy getting visa, bank account, citizenship, hotel license and business advice. it has been fantastic to be honest and saved me a lot of legwork. and have been awarded many awards also from the forum which you probably noticed. What has horrified me is the constant stream of shocking reports involving Brits behaving terribly, murder, ripping of sex workers, hit and runs etc etc No wonder the UK givernment has given this warning with the threat of jail. Thai jail at that.
  2. Ok, good to know. I think it will be best that I ask sellers to apply and obtain a license before I buy just to be safe.
  3. Thanks for the real life information Sounds fairly simple and straight forward. Good luck with it.
  4. You sound very uptight. The thread is UK warns British tourists to behave in Thailand or face jail time I don’t get what you are ranting on about.
  5. sure is, that is why I asked on the Internet. so 3 bedroom villas not required. 4 bedroom and up license required. District office 2) answered
  6. Years ago in Pattaya gogo bar I met a girl who would put a condom on your foot and then proceed to take the foot up her. I never forgot it, one of those things you don’t forget
  7. I think you are correct. You need to get a hotel license if letting for less than one month. Do worry about negative, all feedback welcome, I am new here but learning lots everyday, mainly thanks to this forum actually. Its a goldmine for someone like me.
  8. Ok, so I will be buying them to rent out to tourists, will be earning legitimate income and employing staff to clean. The house I will living in will be in my girlfriend’s name and won’t be conducting any business.
  9. No need to google, everyone knows that. I just asked my girlfriend. She said she didn’t know that either and that the Burmese guy who sold them to me was just trying to make some money to send back to his family in Myanmar and wasn’t a sex trafficker. There is a lot of trouble over there at the moment. A lot of Burmese in Thailand now.
  10. Yeah, sure mate. Everyone knows that. Got a link for any of your accusations?
  11. Soapys and threesomes.
  12. I was just told that if I have pool villas I rent out to guests for less than one month that I will need to obtain a “ Hotel license” Obviously since most people don’t holiday for more than a month at a time to make a good profit it will be essential to have. Someone on this forum will have done this I am sure. 1) How much are they? 2) Which department gives them? 3) Is there much waiting time for them to be issued? 4) If I buy a villa that has already been rented out do I have to transfer it over and is there any cost to that? 5) any other pitfalls to be wary of? Thank you in advance.
  13. Ok, thanks for the tip. I will make sure I get hotel licenses.
  14. Right. An endemic of two negative Swiss men, one of who was obviously mentally unwell. Waiting for the Swiss government to put out a statement now. Two, twice, a couple. Don’t look over here, look at the Swiss.
  15. Grief is a debilitating thing. Some take years to get over it, and some never do.
  16. Not yet, I am only getting started.
  17. By short time do you mean an hour or two? That wouldn't be my plan anyway. minimum 3-4 days I suppose unless they pay a premium
  18. Well that was a long drawn out affair, it took nearly an hour even with the agent. I m not sure why all the angst about a foreigner than intends living my life out in Thailand applying for a citizenship. It isn’t like it has never been done before.
  19. I haven’t seen the Swiss government needing to warn their citizens to behave here or end up in jail. Or any others. Have you got a link? Or just making it up to suit your narrative?
  20. That is terrible. I think a case like that is more about somebody with a serious mental illness rather than just an a-hole. But old news. Lambeth (London)
  21. Yep, got it. Thanks for that. i will go and see lawyers about it when I get back from Saigon.
  22. Which is unfortunately the reason for this warning. pretty bad it has got to this.
