Bangkok launches major drug prevention initiative with urine tests
MalcolmB replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
There has been a big problem for many years because of yaba pills is Thailand and many crimes have been committed, often sexual crimes against children, the elderly murdered etc. Far more serious problem than someone having a couple of beers and driving home. Some Karen farang harping on about his human “rights” will not make a bit of difference to how the RTP fight this scourge. Things are done differently in Thailand, what happens in your country is irrelevant. i suggest you educate yourself no google “Thaksins war on drugs” -

I suppose you are going to claim they should not be able to test you for drink driving either as that will be against your imagined “rights”. This is their country, you will do as you are told keyboard warrior -

Yeah right. how many years have you lived here and how many times have you been bashed? I feel very safe here and the Thais, especially in entertainment areas, seem to have a high tolerance and understanding of drunken idiots. These idiots would not get half as far if the behaved like they do here in the UK or USA If I saw a Thai fighting with Bob I would jump in to help. Help the Thai.

I have been getting used to this sort of thing after watching every clinic and hospital in Gaza be bombed over the last 9 months in near daily attacks. At least the Ukrainians can relocate the injured to other hospitals with medicine, unlike in Gaza.

Back in the old days before cheap airfares and easy visas there were few Americans in Thailand apart from when they came to bomb the Vietnamese, Laotian and Cambodian people and villages. Now unfortunately it is too easy for them to come here so we get their trashy people. Might be time to start limiting their numbers for the sake of everyone else. Most Americans don’t even have a passport which is a good thing, keep them inside Trumps wall. -

Some people just are not cut out for life here. Luckily for them Bangkok has two airports Suvarnaphumi and Don Mueang. -

I thought he lived here but didn’t know what he was talking about. But now think about it, I think you might be right. Always harping on but usually with statements that are wrong. Similar to the other two. They don’t mind misquoting either when it suits them. -

As you know mate, back in our country there is a lot of push back against immigrants who show up and demand everything to be same in their countries WHEN it suits them. Nothing worse. Locals hate them -
Actually this is my third trip here and I am living permanently now. The first person I spoke to here many moons ago was an Issan bar girl, which is quite common here amongst the western males who travel alone or with other western males to Thailand. Those Issan bargirls are the front line. Let me guess, you live in Issan?

Rubbish. The year 2023 was the warmest year since global records began in 1850 at 1.18°C (2.12°F) above the 20th-century average of 13.9°C (57.0°F). This value is 0.15°C (0.27°F) more than the previous record set in 2016. The 10 warmest years in the 174-year record have all occurred during the last decade (2014–2023). -

That must be fun at parties when many people are talking at once? Might be ok for single sentences, but socially I don’t think Thais are going to be bothered with a farang and a google translator. -
