  1. I've been planning on buying a NETA V due to low prices, too. However, the company producing the NETA V recently cut 400 jobs in Thailand and has severe financial problems. So I'm a bit worried about future availability of spare parts for NETA cars. I also do worry about the mentioned crash safety rating. Otherwise, I think a modern EV is a good choice, and will be less trouble than an ICE car, for a long time. LFP batteries will most likely outlast the car itself (note that 2023 Neta V have been produced with LFP and NMC batteries). Also, LFP batteries are significantly safer than NMC batteries.
  2. Phrao, Chiang Mai (not sure if the same as mentioned before) is beautiful and hardly any tourists. It's ~100km from Chiang Mai. There's hot springs northwest to the valley. It used to be free and there was hardly anyone ever there. Plenty of nice places to go to with your motorbike. The road to the north (direction of Fang) is a nice drive through woods and hills. North/Northeast you can also drive on dirt roads to some Lahu villages and Doi Mon Lan (which is also accessible by asphalt roads). Dirt road at 19.426095, 99.226404. I live in Chiang Rai and now with the "high season" there's plenty of tourists at the waterfalls and other "tourist" spots. If you aren't going there, it's mostly easy to avoid the tourists.
