Hi!
I´m 26 years old, married to a Thai. We have two children together and my wife is pregnant.
I´ve heard from someone here in the forom that it´s possible to extend oyur 3 months non immigrant O visa to a One year in Singapore without showing a bank account and a monthly income. Is that true?
My 3 months non immi O visa expires the 27th this month. But if someone can confirm this I will go to Singapore on sunday.
I have the marriage certificate, my sons birth paper from Sweden in English.
Do you think I can extend it to a year without the money, only showing the documents?

Great great thread!!!
This is the reason why people still come here even if there are bombings in south Thailand, tsunami and bombings in Bangkok and everything.
I just want to post an opposite thing that happened when I lived in Sweden.
It was the day before christmas. I found a wallet on the floor at a huge supermarket. I picked it up, saw on the driver licence it was a girl that was 18 years old and it was over 8000 swedish crowns in the wallet (40 000 baht) I felt sorry for the poor girl that I thought must be crying over losing all that money day before christmas. I tryed several times to get her numbe rfrom different services and finally I found it. Called her and she said "oh I didn´t even notice that I lost it, but I will meet you at the store in 5 minutes" I stood there 35 minutes in the cold snowy weather until she showed up. got out of her car and said: "Thank you merry christmas" and took of.
Why did I move to Thailand???
I´ve had many good experiences in Thailand too. everything from lost wallet, mobile phones, cameras, help with everything I need, but there are to many of these stories already posted here...love this country
Why is there always people here that needs to be funny or say something bad when someone finally posts a good thread here? Make a new topic. "who can be the worst smart ass" or something and post your "funny" comments there!
Happy new year to everyone and once again Thanks Jet gorgon for a good thread

This post will provide a solution for you.
Yes that was a good post. But he says "I´m well over 50" and I want to know if that had something to do with why it was easier?
I´m only 26 but i will give it a try.

When I got my three months O at Savannakhet I asked the consular if it is possible if I for some reason cannot get a one year extention to go back to savannakhet and apply for a new Non O three months and he sain No i have to extendd it to a year visa.
One more question. My three months O is a single entry. are all three months O single entry? because i saw no option in tha application form about single and multiple.

Does Phuket immigration say how they will distinguish between "genuine" tourists and others?
Hey maybe that's the new thing. Just wear a Thailand t-shirt or a Hard Rock cafe Pattaya shirt, camera around your neck and socks in sandals and you get how many tourist stams as you wish.

I also think that Jomtien is a good option. Take them to Ambassador hotel on Sukhumvit. It's a great hotel with three swimmingpool parks and a private beach without salesmen. you can go there even if you're not staying in the hotel , the beach is free and clean but the seimmingpool is 200B /person I think if you not stay there.
Rent a speed boat and take them to Koh Larn. Great paradise crystal clear water and good relax.
when it comes to Phuket my favorite beach is Surin Beach. Great water and really nice and quiet. DONT take them to Patong.
Museums? hmm don't think so. How are you going from Pattaya to Phuket? By plane?

Thanks for your answer. Both KTV and MSS sounds good. But I can´t find any website about them. Do you have a webpage, e-mail or phonenumber so I can contact them to ask if I can get it here in Ayutthaya?
Martin
There are approximately 300 local cable companies in Thailand, with each one for a particular town or area. The ones you mentioned won't be available in Ayuthaya, but I'm sure Ayuthaya would have its own.
I think you're right...Yesterday I saw a minivan. on the sides of the van it said "ATV" (Proboably ayutthaya TV) and then some commersial about some channels like star movies and star sports too. So I got the number and will call them today.
Thanks for all replies

Hi!
I wonder if there are any other cable TV companies here than UBC? So I can get a few international sportchannels and maybe some movie channel with english sound instead of Thai dubbed western movies?
I guess UBC is ok but you need at least the Gold package to get the good movie and sport channel. And the gold package is 1500 B/month
Just asking. I live in Ayutthaya 70km north of Bangkok so maybe here aren't to many options but it would be nice to know if there are any other cable TV companies.

When I lived in Sweden I competed two years in Dart. I love the game and I wonder if anyone knows about a dart club in Bkk area?
Since I've noticed here are alot of English people in the Forum and they are the best dart players in the world maybe someone would know? Would like to continue with the sport.

Yes At Steve's I'm a regular. Nice food and nice swimmingpool but not too many farangs. Mostely backpackers not many that actually lives here. But as you say. Not too many farangs here but that's also nice in one way. But still it would be nice to have a not-thai friend to take a few beer with every once in a while.
In Sweden we have an expression "you can't eat the cookie and still save it"

Do as I did.
Almost every country has a represented restaurant in Bangkok and many of them serves a traditional christmas dinner Buffet.
I'm myself from Sweden and I booked a swedish Christmas buffet in one of the Swedish restaraunts. That's the closest I get to a Swedish Christmas.
Mayby they can set the Air con for minus 10 degrees celcius and it would be even more like swedish christmas hehe

Anyone of you planning to come to Ayutthaya? Here is a huge festival from the 8th to the 18th of December with good conerts everyday. Example on the 8th or 9th Kala is here, on the 11th Pong larn sa orn, 17th LOSO and many more.
I live a few hundred meters from the place where everything happens so give me a pm or something if you want to take a few Changs. Chang has a beer festival next to the conserts.

Hi!
I'm a Swedish guy 26 years old living in Ayutthaya since 6 months ago. Are there any farangs reading this forum living here too? It would have been fun to have a farang friend instead of speaking Thai everyday. Swedish, english, american or whatever doesn't matter.
I have seen many westerns in town while driving around town (not tourist western) so there must be some here
Feel free to PM or mail me.

Non Immigrant O In Singapore
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Posted
Ok Lopburi. The reason I posted the topic was that I saw a few months ago here that there was one guy that got the 1 year visa in singapore without shoowing income. he said "I just went there with my marriage certificate, wifes passport and the birth certificate of the children" and that was after the 1st october. But I can´t find that post again.
