I have seen many of your post's. you live in the middle of Pattaya, frequent bars and have many a comment on them and the women that frequent those places, and then you try by most of your post on similiar subjects place all Thai women in the same catagory. So 2.8 million out of 60 million Thai population gives 4.6%. And that includes men and children.

Strictly speaking it's sexual harassment. My wife and a good looking member of the family, school teacher, have been approached by Westerners in the street for sexual services on a number of occasions. They do not consider the approach as amusing or a compliment, but a major irritation. These idiots should constrain themselves to use the thousands of venues (bar beers etc) set up for prostitution. I bet they would boast about their “pick up” skills when paying for sex.

BTW my wife and her neice just ignore being approached, but both say it is really annoying to have to deal with this behaviour.

As no physical contact took place, I don't think it counts as a crime in any way on the part of the men.

Unless you count her taking the money, which may be considered soliciting, and an arrestable offence for her in the US the moment she took the money.

If a policeman had seen her accept the money in the US, she would most certainly have been arrested and booked for prostitution.

If she has objections to being approached as a prostitute, then she should take it up with the Thai government, who for years have allowed the entire world to view it as a whore-house. Not to mention the Thai women who sell themselves in countries across the world. The best thing respectable Thai women can do is not hang out in resorts, clubs, cities, roads, places where there are foreigners. Plenty of towns and roads in Thailand without foreigners.

Come on, guys. This thread is not about the price of milk and salami. It's about the abundance of Pattaya bashers who need to let everyone know about their feelings on a regular basis.

Some possible explanations on why they hate the place can be:

- A broken heart. Noi the bar girl wasn't faithful after all while you were away.

- A broken wallet. Noi the bar girl did not keep the house you bought her but sold it and ran away with a Dutch body builder.

- Envy. You're not allowed by the wife to go there, or you just can't afford it (or a combination of the two)

- A loathing of the local P4P scene.

-Fear (of what you'll become if you moved there)

I still don't know why some men get upset about the life styles of other men. It seems rather childish. What concern should it be of anyone other than the agreeing couple? Normal men have always been sexually attracted to young beautiful women. It starts at puberty and doesn't change when they get older. That's the facts; why the argument here? I started reading this last night coundn't wait to finish it.SOME background( ihave been visiting LOS a few times.I am retiring there Jan,Feb. ) NOW i am 62 be 63 in Jan 14. The girl i met is spectacular she is funny down to earth and just as genuine as the day is long Her family is poor rice farmers,she loves farming,chickens,cooking and helping others. When we are together we are laughing and have the best time.SHE may not be HI SO in some eyes but for me she is a million bucks. I will ride this "relationship" for as long as it lasts .IF all i end up with is a couple months that will be more happiness than i had in my other two marriages ( yes i am divorced twice so i am damaged goods) But for some strange reason when i am with her all my short commings don't seem to matter. Now as far as the age difference yes it is a factor but no more than the large difference between cultures .I am glad and proud to be with what some call "a girl no thai would want" she was married and had a child and is poor she don't have a degree (but she is smart) she has dark skin and probably more Lao than thai(don't know) NOW BEFORE I TELL ALL YOU sharks how young she is I really don't give a **** what you think of me.I quit living my life for what others think a while ago:) But i just couldn't resist adding my two cents(you know us yanks) SHE will be 23 when i am 63 I LOVE IT. now sorta what i said above i am not concerned about what tommorow brings today is the only day i have. I have survived cancer two exwives the loss of one son,my parents two sisters and i imagine before it is over i will out live my other siblings and my youngest son and my other exwife .
