  1. It is based on marriage. Thank you. I thought it would be easier to send the money to my wife first so it will already be in Thailand. My bank doesn't have a simple international transfer method.
  2. No it's not from tax fear. I just thought it would be easier to access the money to transfer it from the bank I would open the account at. I have fear about being able to transfer the money from my USA account into the Thai bank account. I'm also trying to get the money to Thailand before an unscrupulous debt collector tries to seize the money from my account. They bought up an old debt that doesn't exist anymore and I couldn't attend the court date to challenge it due to a serious brain injury. What do you need to show immigration? Do you show them a bank statement that shows the transfer arrived from a foreign account?
  3. Hello everyone, Can I send the 400,000 baht needed for the non o visa to my wife's Thai account from my foreign account and then transfer that into my Thai bank account and have it count as having been deposited from a foreign account? Will showing that her account received the money from a foreign account suffice? Thank you
  4. Thank you. What is the fee for the annual renewal?
  5. Hello everyone, Is there a fee you have to pay when you have to go to the local immigration office to do the 90 day check in for the non o spouse visa?
  6. Hello, I thought about trying the Vientianne route but it all seems like too much of a pain to deal with. I've decided I'm going to wait until I'm living in Thailand with her to apply for a tourist visa for her to come to the USA to visit my family. Hopefully that makes the process easier since we both would be living in Thailand and have no desire to live in the USA and would have no residence there anyway.
  7. Hello everyone, Can I buy a one-way ticket to Thailand if I am approved for a non o e Visa?
  8. If you’re married to a Thai woman and live in Thailand, do you qualify for health insurance? Expats married to Thai citizens must apply for permanent residency to have benefits like universal healthcare. Looks like you are incorrect. Once I get residency I can be added to her insurance.
  9. Hello Everyone, I'm a USA citizen. My wife and I got married in Thailand. Can I be added to her national health insurance plan? Thank you
  10. I already got that, got the translation, gave it to the Ministry of Magic, and then registered it at our local Amphur. Thank you.
  11. What do you mean it would require 2 visits if you apply from within Thailand? Is that because you would apply for the Non O then have to go back to apply for the extension after you've had the money in the bank account for 2 months? If I get the Non O from the USA that means I open a bank account in Thailand when I arrive and then wait two months to apply for the extension correct? Thank you for your help.
  12. Awesome thank you for your help. I appreciate it.
  13. Sorry for another question. I didn't think of it until after I sent the last one. Do they do a background check when you do an e visa? I checked the Thailand E visa website and couldn't find an application for a marriage visa.
  14. How does it minimize visits to immigration in Thailand? Do you still have to check in every 90 days with an evisa? Do I apply for it through that Thailand evisa website? Thank you
  15. I plan on getting the Non O while in Thailand. I don't have a bank account yet. I was there in September. We got married. I returned to the USA to save up some money. I'll get the non o and open an account when I go back. Thank you for your reply.
  16. Hello everyone, It's been difficult to parse together what the process looks like for acquiring a Thai marriage visa with regards to a background check. On one page of Siam legal's website it says you need a clear criminal record and then on another page is doesn't mention there is a background check done as a part of the process. I've seen other legal sites that don't mention a background check. Is there a background check done as a part of the process? If so what kind of background check is done? I'd prefer responses from USA citizens who have gone through the marriage visa process. Thank you
  17. Hello everyone, I would like my Thai wife to visit me in the United States. What would she need to make it more likely that she could get a tourist visa to come visit me. I've read that she would need to show the U.S. embassy that she intends to return to Thailand with money in her bank account and having a job. My wife has her own business. Someone told me they also want to see that she would have traveled to another non Asian country and returned to Thailand. They were told that by Siam Legal. My guess is it's not a requirement but would increase her chances of getting a tourist visa. Any information on how we can get her a tourist visa is appreciated. Thank you.
