  1. Just returned from a morning 'Border Bounce' at Chong Mek. Absolutely NO issues. Just like the above post - friendly IO staff on both sides, to Laos and back in 30 minutes. This was on the back of a 60 Day VE > 60 Day Border Bounce > 30 Day Thai Extension and then today 60 Day VE via Land Border. Now will do the Non - O 90 Day then Retirement Extension.
  2. Yep. sure am. However you have just assumed this info is for me.... and that i may be asking on behalf of somebody else.. I would just let people ask what they want for their reasons!
  3. Yep. Exactly. Things appear to have already changed 'up the line' within the last month... before that it was Chiang Khong started the same. guess it may only be a matter of time. wishing to keep tabs on events! 🙂
  4. Am interested to learn if anyone has recently done this as a same day border bounce? ( during December 2024 ) With recent reports at the Nong Khai Thai side requesting at least a one night Laos overnight stay.... Would be great to know if this has hit at Chong Mek as of yet?
  5. This week have visited Korat Immigration following a border bounce into Laos very late November 2024. I was planning on a 30 Extension of stay this week then after 30 days apply for a further 60 day Extension based on being married to a Thai. However on inspection of the paperwork the officer stated you will not be able to extend the visa you apply for any further - Maximum of 90 day stay in Thailand, you got 60 days when you arrived ) Is this new? Is this only in Korat or country wide? Used to be 30 day on arrival, then 1st 30 day extension, then a 2nd 60 day extension for a total of 120 days.... Any thoughts......
  6. Just for extra clarification.... Yes... It was Chong Mek Border with, Laos..... ( not Cambodia! )
  7. The 30th November 2024 was the Expiry date - VE would be valid till 23.59 that same day. I had got a new VE stamp 60 days prior, after flying back in via BKK after 4 weeks outside Thailand. I had been in Thailand from mid June 2024 & flew out 90 days later, after one Extension at Immigration.
  8. Just back from a morning border bounce at Chong Mek. No issues at all. Easy parking at the Thai side right by the departure area. No finger prints requested on leaving Thailand or re-entry back into Thailand. US$40= in crisp new notes handed over at Laos visa office - 2 minutes to print the passport label with a smile and I was off. I was surprised that they were still handing out TM6 forms for entry back in Thailand. ( thought that had been scrapped at land borders ? ) All in all a great experience.....
  9. Appreciate that update as I'm off there end of November to do just that!
