Must Read Phuket Opinion: Punishing tourists for wanting a drink
Amdesign replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Phuket News
All the restrictions they make are aimed at only one purpose: they want actions of government to be seen and felt by everyone, this is the way to terrify and control the population. Secondly, making all attractive things illegal, the create 'cashbox' for the pinspotters of the regime. -
It is absolute nonsense to name the places once there 20,000 reported cases per day in the country. In reality, this would mean 20,000x10=200,000 real cases. There is no sense of doing that for many months already! However, naming the places in such negative context could be treated as defamation, which is criminal offense by Thai law.

All these episodes should contribute to best advertisement of tourist re-opening plans and sandboxes. Tourism is the business possible for the civilized countries only. Thailand does not need tourism and does not deserve to be a tourist destination. Back to agriculture, Thais go farming to their sweet home Isaan.

I don't know what You mean 'real Thai attitude'. And I am not talking about absolute immunity. However, Thailand has always been unsafe for tourism, You can read warnings of embassies dated 2019 and back regarding motobikes, cars, boats, robbery, scam, diseases, etc. The government never tried to improve the situation... Come for cheap on Your own risk, but don't forget to pay for visas, extensions, re-entries!

Natural beauty exists in almost any country. No point to come for this to Thailand, feeding the bureaucratic mafia and sitting in ridiculous quarantine. As to beauty of Thai countryside... now we are well aware of real Thai attitude to foreigners. Some learned that doing the 'quarantine jail' organized by greedy quarantine mafia. Others learned that lesson being kicked off Koh Larn multiple times. I doubt anyone will feel relaxed in Thailand after tourist murder in Phuket... Tourism and poverty do not stay together! Country where safety of tourists is not top priority should be banned from international tourism forever.

Scenery? Mediterranian is way nicer to me. Food? The one is too spicy for most of farang visitors... Well, can try, but look how many foreign-owned restairants serve European food - this is becasue of the demand from tourits who dont want to eat Thai food every day. Art?? What do You call art, this visuial garbage on the streets, covered by chaotic advertisements and ugly shop signs? Is there anyone who can walk and enjoy street architecture in Thailand? Easy to come and low prices - the key for success! Cheap drinks and prostitution, too.

What an nonsense - travel to a country with one million travel restrictions!? For waht purpose? Look at beaches which are closed from their hotel rooms? Hide from police while taking some vine? Wear masks while feeding the beggards? The reality is: fresh info - Aeroflot cancelled all flights to Thailand today, they say probably will resume flights in November. Thailand was only desirable as travel destination because it was cheap and easy to get in. Not anymore - so why?

Yes, however domestically they are testing people with symptoms and contacts. This will give higher %, thus difficult to compare. I would say the risks of domestic transmission is at least 10 times higher than imported by 'tourists'. However, due to financial interest of decision makers they will continue with this stupid quarantine, killing not only the tourism but other businesses as well.

They don't understand - this will never happen. Egypt is open for tourism unlike Thailand not inventing idiotic requirements for pre-entry paperwork, tests, quarantines, forced isolation, tracking apps, closed tourist infrastructure, etc.

The risk of getting COVID in Thailand via domestic transmission is times higher than from arriving 'tourists', who are vaccinated and are tested prior to boarding the plane. So from basic risk analysis there is absolutely no point in quarantine; quarantine just seems to be the money-making business by Minister of Health. PS All new versions of the virus will he in Thailand anyway, as the land borders are poorly controlled.

They should be more creative and introduce system of absurd requirements, as they allways do in Thailand: - develop mobile app 'Safe Sex' which will be tracing the sexual contacts. The lovers should download and intall it before having sex, with bluetooth on... - prior to having sex, the participants' papers should be sent to Minisrty of Health, including medical certificate form and negative COID test taken 72 hours prior to sex; - QR code will be ussied by MoH for sex approval; - foreigners having sex in Thailand should submit copy of visa and/or workpermit to MoH; - foreigners on marriage visa are only allowed to have sex with married partner; - during sex, they should be reporting every 90 seconds to the government sex control officer; - any other ideas?
