  1. I can see the logic from Thai Post, they get paid twice for boxes they sell, then they still steal anything you do not send via EMS requiring a signature.

I would estimate that between 50-60% of all parcels / post that has been sent to me from outside of Thailand actually makes it. the other 40-50% just gets magic'ed away into the ether by the Thai Post.

I have to admit though, this is not Thai bashing, the UK post office workers are another bunch of thieving scum. (I actually had a distant family member who was employed by the Royal Mail 40 years ago that thought it was OK to steal premium bonds and other peoples parcels.

I also worked as a sub contractor for BRS (Roadline) way back when and their regular drivers were worse than Fagin! Everyone of their drivers knew which "Brown Envelopes" contained the porn mags and regularly used to open them and probably sit and toss themselves off before dropping off the already opened package.

Scum everywhere, they knew people were probably too embarrassed to complain.

Everything I order or send these days requires a signature or has to be warranteed via Pay Pal or such like as it is only getting worse.

Guess same in most state postal service. I agree that to prevent pilferage you need to register with tracking numbers and requests for a signature. Better than double box it which will not guarantee that it will not be opened for inspection or get stolen.

  2. And can they sort out the taxi drivers at Hua Lamphong train station that refuse to use their meters. I've even heard other taxi drivers complaining about it. Really needs sorting out.

Very simple, get out the taxi like people I know or read on this forum, if they refused to flag the meter down. There are others who are willing to flag the meter. If everyone does take this action whenever it happens, very soon such taxis will have no customers.

  3. Why does not Thai drivers look forward. Why do they only look at the road in near vicinity ? Why not widen your horizon a little bit, it could save hundreds of lives every year ?

They're trained from young to live for today and never for the mid or long term as they cannot grasp the concept of future planning or couldn't care less if they endangered others. They have a myopic vision and does not understand defensive driving. Look around today and you'll understand the kind of environment these people are living in.

  4. How does making the police department reporting to a ministry keep them away from the politicians? Isn't the Minister of Justice a politician? Unless it is created as an independent agency but then, even they're within reach of a politician, like the DSI? Can somebody please enlighten me?

  5. " The National Council for Peace and Order has summoned Khunying Potjaman Na Pombejra, the unregistered wife of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, "

    What's an unregistered wife?

    You mean "deregistered"????? cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif

  6. Seems the Military called a fake meeting of heads of both Reds & Yellows then arrested them all?

11 folks from what I can understand Suthep & Jutaporn included

    [/quote

Good work from the military strategists. Some super powers were suckered into this plan and praised the military for it......555555....now when he got them cornered, he declared it a coup and got the trouble makers in the net. Great work......

  7. Leader of the headmen from Chiang Mai, Mr Kamoldit Rotananipat, alias Kamnan Daeng,

Must be a ThaiRouge member, he has an alias.

Your comment is, sadly, typical of many a response on this forum to a serious news item. Reduce it to trivilaities and try to make clever comments. Once in while, It would be helpful, to recognize that PRDC's rent-a-mob in Bangkok are causing real difficulties for those whose function it is to carry out the administrative fiat at ampoe, tambon and moo baan level throughout the country.

2 weeks ago, I was at the Chiangmai immigration to get thai passports for my family and this is the 3rd time that we went there. There were about 300+ people in the queue since 4am and we had no chance of getting it done. The inconvenience of the people who drove all the way from Lampang & Lampun is understandable, so those who are still blocking government offices in BKK should allow the civil service administration to work.

  8. kids in car seats in Thailand, they wont put on a seat belt that's already in the car.

    WHAT NEXT?

Don't forget the helmets for all motorcyclists...still a pain trying to enforce that rule too...didn't work to well in the province. Having rules is not good enough as we all know, enforcement is the biggest issue in most countries that has a failed system. Same goes to drunk drivers, speedsters, overworked bus drivers high on redbull....these are all adults who flout the law, so what makes them think that they will comply with the car seats rule? Zero chance.

  9. And in a seminar held by one of our famous universities Thai journalists have a chance to learn about the difference between a bomb and a grenade.

Don't forget to include the big crackers as well. I don't know what are they, but seems to be very popular here with the locals. Is this something to do with the principle of non violent means, so instead of a bomb or a grenade, fire crackers are ok. Non violent.

  10. What a bloody joke. Red shirts are planning to secede and have come out to say they're raising a 600,000 strong militia and CAPO does nothing. Police beat a confession out of someone they arrested and suddenly the PRDC is storing up arms. Oh yeah! This is brilliant investigative work! Sherlock Holmes would be proud! clap2.gif

And YL says "please be fair.....sob....sob...."
