  1. The main problem is that Suthep does not wish anything at all... apart from overthrowing the elected government.

The government made many attempts in the past months to invite the Dems to sit and talk, but they always have refused. And they have been the only ones to refuse...

Their goal is not to find a way out. They prefer tension and confrontation. Their goal is just to have the country run in their own way, which has nothing to do with elections or parliament.

The best would be that the Dems throw Suthep and Abhisit out of the game. Then, for sure, someone brighter would decide that this nonsense is not going anywhere, and that talking together is the only way out.

Looks like some people has really a short memory, or most people as I see this happening every day. What happened when the current people in government now was in the opposition camp and start burning downtown Bangkok? Did they want to talk to the PM and the Dems to resolve the issues at that time? Were those people on stage in 2010 and encouraging the Reds to burn down Bangkok and the WTC guilty of their crime?

  2. Why doesn't the big shot tell his paid police servants to enforce the law that is already in place. rolleyes.gif

Enforcement is the issue here but he just want to have his say, like everybody else, does not matter if it makes sense or not.

Thought years ago, they were giving helmets away for a song? What happened to that? Just like the one child one tablet, all broken to pieces. cheesy.gif

  3. I remember reading a while ago that one middle eastern airline, Emirates I think, have effectively valued their A340-500's at zero as they are so inefficient and nobody wants them. How Thai can put such a high book value on them is beyond me.

    It's what they do.

Planes, houses, cars, rice all over valued on the books. To quote market value would require a loss of face by them.

Thais will keep a house in a moo baan, unoccupied for years, slowly deteriorating and still attempt to get top value for it.

The concept of "Sunk Costs" is alien to Thais. They'll never understand that something is better than nothing when it comes to business. Those planes have been flown for untold millions of miles and have carried an untold amount of passengers and have no doubt paid for themselves, but the Thais insist on playing hard ball for their price for planes that they will never put up in the air again.

    Stupid beyond belief...

I wouldn't be flying on that plane when they put it back to use considering the recent accidents which speaks alot on the kind of maintenance that they do, or perhaps not done????

  4. Wonder how far will this circus of clowns go down? Running this country is like children playing and fighting each other. Thought they were supposed to be grown ups and have some brains building the future generations or is this a bad dream come true?

What made you think that? Have you just arrived in Thailand? tongue.png

Nope, just that in recent days, they've deteriorated to such childish acts and was wondering are these people really the guardian of the country? I've not seen any countries in the world that have been close to such antics? facepalm.gif

  5. THAI took delivery of seven new aircraft in Q2, the most in the airline’s history while depreciation of unused aircraft posted a loss of Bt3.593 billion? Does this make sense or is this sound financial management where operating profit in the first half of the year was Bt101.75 billion while the expenses were Bt100.207 billion?

Thought Thai appointed a new President to the company not too long ago?

I gave up flying Thai on business trips long time ago when the aircraft was ageing and interiors were shabby. Switched to Etihad where they provide free limo service within 60km of the airport for business travelers.

  6. If he was "detained" where did he got the blade....anyway that is not important, what is, is to give him the singapore own medicine...' death penalty '

Send him back to Singapore and let him taste the full gambit of the law there. He thinks the law here is more lax and he can get away lightly, that's why he peddles them in the south and not in Singapore or Malaysia. Poor guy probably in huge debt and took the risk, now regreted being caught and wants to end his life from all the misery. Unfortunately he wasn't sure if he wanted to die, that's why he is still alive.....hoping to get sympathy?

  7. I am living at San Sai area and used to have TTT (now 3BB) and had poor service and regular drop outs. Guessed they were in trouble and was bought over and changed name to 3BB. I am now using TOT service and have less drop outs except for heavy storms. You can get the package at 599 depends on the promotions now. But you need to have a telephone line to use TOT service. Forget about the True or AIS 3G, they're rip off as they are charged by the amount of data used or downloaded.

However in BKK. they're different since competition is greater here and at my condo here I am using True Internet with excellent aftersales service especially online call center. No need to have a telephone number for True.

    Good luck.

  8. I have been using it for the past 6 months with the Zyxel router. Has only 2 port for LAN in addition to the wireless LAN.

No problem with the setup with the help of the call center at 1686 with english assistance.

No problem with the Zyxel and not necessary to install the navigator. Just plug in the router and enter 192.168.1.1 for setup.

Call 1686 to guide you through. It's a breeze. However if you need more than 2 LAN ports, then you can buy one at the IT mall.

  9. Now with his new PR manager, Robert Amsterdam, he's taking the fight onto the world stage. But he forgot that Amsterdam has a poor image internationally and has wrangled a few country's government like Singapore. Googled his background and check the article "Robert Amsterdam continues to attack the Singapore government on Huffington Post". He is going to do the same for Thailand.

  10. I get mine from friends coming in from Singapore or Malaysia or Indonesia.

Believe that some expats wife makes them at home too cos I was offered some by a colleague in BKK.

I also tried buying the yeast powder from a website but then the hassle of keeping them in a warm cabinet to grow the yeast was too much for me. So I gave up. Probably the shops around the Malaysian embassy can help, I was told but never been there.

I still keep a few packets in my freezer and fry them whenever I need to satisfy my cravings for tempeh...

  11. Hi, if you have elephant dung, its ok since what the elephant ate is usually bananas, leaves, etc. I used th buffalo dung or cow dung from the rice fields and boy, our vegetables had huge leaves, we had healthy chillies, corns, papayas, etc. But be careful not to put too much as this may kill the plants. Try to mix them with your soil, experiment with them. You will see the difference. Don't go out to buy those chemical fertilisers, you can get the same dried cow dungs from the nursery. This is organic for sure. Good luck.

  12. I've heard a lot of bad feedback about this company and the very poor service level. I've even heard they reassign used numbers or share them since they cannot afford to invest in expansion from the advertising the made last year. I terminated that service one year ago opting for AIS aircard using 3G but the exorbitant cost made it not the best option. 3G charges by the amount of data used or downloaded whereas the older system offers a better package deal regardless of the amount of data used. Finally I changed to TOT internet last month when they launched its own internet service. They are the telco people and has the resources whereas TT&T rents the phone lines from TOT. This explains why the resources ran out on one.

This is my personal experience and my interpretation of the current situation. Someone else may think otherwise.

  13. You can find Jacky bicycle shop right after the traffic junction towards Doi Suthep approaching from Central Kaedsuan Keaw or Chiangmai Ram hospital. Turn left at that traffic junction and head past the Starbucks coffee place. There is a small side lane which you turn into and the shop is right there on your left hand side. I bought my wall mount bicycle hangers from there last December. There's another ProBike shop along Hangdong road towards Baan Tawai. If you are heading from Carrefour Hangdong towards Baan Tawai, it is on your right hand side or the opposite flow of traffic. It is located next to a gasoline station, about 1 km before the junction where you turn left into Baan Tawai.

Good luck. I think there are about 3 such bicycle shops that sells good quality mountain bikes in Chiangmai like Trek. I bought mine with 7-gears for about 5,000 baht from the ProBike shop.
