  1. The problem is most of those ships wouldn't pass U.S. inspections or in any country that takes registration seriously. That's why they register their ships in countries like Liberia.
  2. Well, President Trump shouldn't have claimed that he already had so many deals ready to go. But I'm confident he'll get there.
  3. Call it what you like. President Trump had the sense to realize it wasn't working. The US abandoned protecting the freedom to navigate in the gulf. Let someone try that on seas that are crucial to U.S. security. I think you'll find President Trump acting very differently. Just like those to whom the Persian Gulf is so important should be doing.
  4. And as for ignorance...you're the knownothing who called for B2s to be used.
  5. Lots of people have tried that including President Trump. How has that worked out? And what bleeding heart? Have you seen my express any sympathy for the Houthis? You're running on automatic pilot
  6. Right. Because they are refining their stockpile of uranium deep under the desert? And they're using camel power to do it? You seem quite ignorant of the situation there.
  7. I don't know who you think is calling themselves the saviour of the human race. It's certainly not President Trump. In fact, he has stopped calling America anything like that. If somebody else wants that job, they can have it.
  8. You ever think maybe it's a good thing that maybe it's a good thing that the "western world", whatever that is, stop relying on the USA and rely on itself or themselves instead?
  9. Even though your characterization of the situation in Yemen isn't accurate, who cares? Who exactly is that someone who will bring them back to what they were? Seems like nonsense to me. Unfortunately, in the past, that "who" was usually the USA. And the results weren't good If some other country or countries want to try it out in Yemen, fine. I just hope the USA stays out of it.
  10. Clearly not enough of them. Once again, not much of a problem for the USA. Primarily a European problem. Let them take care of it instead of running with their hands out to Uncle Sam, or, rather, Uncle Donald.
  11. Just because you have money in the bank, that doesn't mean you have to spend it. Save it for when it's really necessary..
  12. We can thank President Trump for identifying the disease and beginning to bring about its cure. Even if he has made 1 big misstep so far.
  13. What transam and other like him are suffering from is a condition called NATOitis. Basically it's the conviction that the USA must be the world's policeman. Not only that, but it must foot the bill itself for the privilege. The only cure to bring these folks back to reality is a sharp curtailment in spending of US arms, blood, and treasure.
  14. Nothing here worthy of Eric Idle. That said, you put a period at the end of the link. Anyone copying this link should avoid that period. It makes the link invalid.
  15. First off, most of the shipping there is for Europe, other Mediterranean countries including Israel, and the region. So it's mostly for non Americans. Why should America have to play policeman here? If the countries most affected have a problem, let them deal with it. The Gulf States have certainly purchased enough weaponry from the US and others. Why should the USA keep coddling the Gulf States, the EU and other affected countries? Why does it have to be US taxpayers who foot the bill?
  16. It's you who once again is showing that. But, unlike you, I will not simply make an assertion, but will offer an explanation. You appealed to the fact that x number of people disagree with me. In other words, you are polling. Not offering any reasoned arguments. Just citing the fact that there is opposition to what I write..
  17. "What, give the Iran fed Houthis a free rein to send our goods to the bottom with its sailors"
  18. Lack of action speaks louder than words. The Houthis have attacked 2 ships and President Trump has wisely refrained from taking any action.
  19. That's why we should be staying out of there. Our interventions bring nothing but misery.
  20. The problem isn't that you and others responded. You just didn't engage in a rebuttal of my reasoning but went off on a tangent. I just pointed out the irrelevance of your comment.
  21. On May 6, 2025, a ceasefire deal between the United States and the Houthi movement in Yemen—brokered by Oman—took hold, ending the March–May 2025 United States attacks in Yemen, as well as the wider US–UK airstrikes on Yemen since the beginning of the Red Sea crisis. The Houthis agreed to halt their attacks on US vessels but otherwise would continue their attacks on vessels in the Red Sea[3] and emphasized that the ceasefire did not in "any way, shape, or form" apply to Israel, which had begun launching its own strikes on Yemen.[4] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_United_States–Houthi_ceasefire#:~:text=On May 6%2C 2025%2C a,of the Red Sea crisis.
