  1. My pool was rerouted, all the tiles two years, and specifically all around the skimmer box was renovated. This morning with the filtration now turned off, I have stuck some tape on the pool at where the present water mark is. Any constructive help and advise of what steps to take in this elimination process, and how to achieve them would be greatly appreciated.

I am thinking of running up some name cards, and would be grateful for any recommendations of printers please. Ideally on one side in English and on the other Thai. That also if possible could incorporate my QR Code of my address, has anybody done this before? Sorry about the bold print, I could not get rid of it.

  4. Your questions in my opinion are academic. Nobody should behave in this manner, regardless of the context or circumstances. Both parties were equal, basically just a normal meeting. And there wasn't any anti farang about this behaviour, as I am sure they do this with everyone.
  5. That must be like importing online a new GFE ( a girlfriend experience) into your country, having paid all of the import duties.
  6. Having been requested to a high level meeting, they initiated it, shortly after it began as soon as I am invited to talk, both the Area Manager and Regional Manager start scrolling through their phones and laptops. From experience the only way I can gauge if Thais are understanding me, is through their eyes, as I have only had one occasion, a Doctor in fact, who said to me I'm sorry but I did not understand what you said. As they both seem to be immersed in what they were doing, I thought it best to stop talking. When they eventually looked up I said no problem I will wait until you have finished.
  7. This was confirmed to me yesterday, when one Government department contacts another one. If correspondence is not replied to, then a reminder is sent after 15 days, then another reminder after a further fifteen days. Finally after 45 days then this correspondence is escalated to the Governor. In America they have an expression for this, three strikes and you are out, here in Thailand it seems after three strikes you are still smiling.
  8. I have a specific question, and I'd be grateful if those could keep on point on it please: As a non working, retired expat on a retirement visa, who and how have you been able to be issued with a Tax Identification Number? TL;DR Key Takeaways – Applying for a Thailand Expat Tax Identification Number (TIN) TIN Requirement for Expats: From January 1, 2024, expatriates in Thailand will need a Tax Identification Number (TIN) due to new tax regulations on foreign-sourced income. TIN Role and Global Context: TINs are unique identifiers for tax purposes, aligning with global standards like the OECD’s Common Reporting Standard to facilitate transparent financial information exchange.
  9. The latest hotel construction has dried up our water. Their wells are now depleting the access to our own. The potential remedy would be a Government mains water supply installed in our Soi, which is in fact a main one.
  10. A six million dollar question here in the Land of the Smiles. Which authority do you think might have the money and authority, to sign off on the installation of of mains local government water, to ones road, in the event they thought it warranted?
  11. On a resized image using Irfan View 64 bit Windows 11, how can I then save it in the new size please on Irfan View?
  12. Thank you for your detailed process, ironically mine has been the same, albeit with a local TRD office, and then two head offices in the main town. Like so many things here in Thailand there is no consistency.
  13. Great you have indeed been issued with a TIN from your local tax office, solely on retirement-extensions to a non-O visa. Excuse me for asking again, but what was this exact process please?
  14. Good question. It is my international bank that is requesting this TIN, nothing to do with the local authorities here in Thailand. So my source, this confirms what my bank is telling me: https://www.expattaxthailand.com/tax-identification-number-thailand/ Now yesterday I was lucky that my transfer has now finally been sent, but first off I don't like being put into this compromising position. Sure there might well be many banks that are not following up with this mandated request today, but in the event that it was was suddenly being enforced, then how would one be placed without a TIN.
  15. Correct but the international banks need them to comply. No TIN no transfers.
  16. Has anyone with solely a retirement visa, successfully been issued with a Thai Taxation Identification Number ( TIN). If so how did you do this please? What's the problem, what's the issue, banks around the world are now being enforced to comply these new regulations. No TIN then no money transfers!
  17. Turns out that that it is the availability of gloss paper. Further reluctance has been sited, cost, Thais don'y like it, and some3 printersa can't run of it so well.
  18. Trying to find images. When you click on List Cache Entries sure it lists them, but it is really difficult to find specific images.
  19. about:cache is so confusing, impossible to find an image.
  20. Not how to clear, rather how to view please.
  21. On Windows 11 how do I find the cache in Mozilla Firefox or Chrome. Does anybody know how to do this today, as I have tried so many different options that have all turned out to be out of date?
  22. I could swear when I first came here 45 years ago, English was indeed being taught in the Thai schools Now 45 years ago is a long time, so no doubt most of you are thinking that I must be fluent in Thai, and that therefore there is no case to answer for. So I suppose that this subject box will now be hijacked, with all those thinking that this should be the case. However when tourism makes up to 20% of the Thai GDP, you might think there might be an incentive to reap more, through being able to communicate with those bringing the money.
  23. Okay you go into the Phuket showroom and ask for the same, exactly equivalent Harley-Davidson CVO "Road Glide" ST model. In the US it's coming in at US$ 45,000, 1,557,972 THB . Here in Phuket it is US$ 90,958, 3,153,000 THB That's a 102% tariff that Thailand is charging. Okay you're going to argue about the postage, shipping costs and a multitude of additional expenses, but even taking these and all the others charges into account, that's still one hell of an increase in Thai tariffs.
  24. I am trying to find out what is the exact procedure and system for preparing, mixing, laying and then patting down sandwash. I am not proposing in doing this myself, but I am trying to find how it should be done, following my recent experience from somebody who said they could do it.
