Malaysia has 90 day visa exempt and no issues at all. It is really funny and pathetic at the same time Thais get their panties in a bunch over some tourist acting like a Jack-ass but it is perfectly fine for tourists to be attached with swords and iron pipes or some 23 year old Thai coward punching a 70 year old woman.

Of course you are using PromptPay. The QR code only populates the receivers phone number. Some businesses can also populate the bill amount. Scanning a QR code is just quick and easy. Entering the phone number manually is exactly the same thing. The 15 Baht you are going on and on about is likely a inter-region fee.

Depends on the Bank at the moment. I changed my phone this year so needed to visit KrungSri and Bangkok Bank to get my Banking Apps working again. I updated my Bangkok Bank Passport with a signature. KrungSri wanted a photo. Took 5 minites so not a big deal. Also, never been charged a fee by the vendor or PromptPay. The only place I use cash for the last couple of years is at the 7-11 and I understand they are starting to accept PromptPay at some locations. Almost all restaurants, food carts, market vendors, food delivery guys have a QR code.
