  1. What should be a routine practice for a police officer to issue a fine for smoking in prohibited areas. Easy... Finished, End of Drama. It is called doing their job. Instead you get this; "The law enforcement team, comprised of officers from various departments, including Deputy Inspector Virapat Kalapitch..." And what happens after all this non-sense? They hand out a fine.
  2. It has always been and will always be like this. It is the xenophobia and money grubbing that is the core of Thai "culture".
  3. These xenophobic clowns seem to think the TM6 ever had any useful purpose. I always had reservation for the first night or few nights. Then move on to different locations. Nothing to do with my intentions or if I might overstay. Really, putting an address on a form somehow magically prevents overstay. The same thing goes for all the whining about having a 60 day visa-exempt instead of 30 day, or visa-free for previously requiring VISAs somehow has any bearing on "bad behavior" or other issues. Malaysia has 90 day visa exempt and no issues at all. It is really funny and pathetic at the same time Thais get their panties in a bunch over some tourist acting like a Jack-ass but it is perfectly fine for tourists to be attached with swords and iron pipes or some 23 year old Thai coward punching a 70 year old woman.
  4. "Authorities are now awaiting further details from the victim, who has yet to file a formal police complaint." So it is perfectly fine to assult tourists with a weapon and do nothing until the tourist makes a formal complaint?
  5. Of course you are using PromptPay. The QR code only populates the receivers phone number. Some businesses can also populate the bill amount. Scanning a QR code is just quick and easy. Entering the phone number manually is exactly the same thing. The 15 Baht you are going on and on about is likely a inter-region fee.
  6. Depends on the Bank at the moment. I changed my phone this year so needed to visit KrungSri and Bangkok Bank to get my Banking Apps working again. I updated my Bangkok Bank Passport with a signature. KrungSri wanted a photo. Took 5 minites so not a big deal. Also, never been charged a fee by the vendor or PromptPay. The only place I use cash for the last couple of years is at the 7-11 and I understand they are starting to accept PromptPay at some locations. Almost all restaurants, food carts, market vendors, food delivery guys have a QR code.
