Trump's Tariff Troubles: Thai Academic Sounds Alarm on Key Issues
Whenever an academic criticizes President Trump I just remember they are an academic. The entire "ivory tower" crowd hates Trump and will say anything to tear him down, It's part of their culture.

Cannabis Advocates Warn of Economic Damage from Policy Shift
Do the bureaucrats have the authority to make this change? Doesn't this change require the legislature to pass legislation? The current instability around a number of issues has made me reconsider moving to Thailand.

Thailand Tightens Cannabis Laws, Dispensaries Must Transform
Great, Thailand is still trying to recover economically from the scamdemic so they are going to put tens of thousands of people out of work again. This is while the government and the banking sector is working hard to chase farangs out of the country. This sounds like a set up for a Marxist revolution and power grab. Who is going to be this century's Josef Stalin?

Political Jitters and Falling Numbers Shake Thailand’s Tourism Recovery
I spent 3.5 months there last summer. Having a bank account made it much easier to transfer money, gave me access to "scan to pay" and Bangkok Bank has cardless withdrawals so I didn't have to carry my debit card. There's also the fact that I already had a bank account that was working fine. If you want to accuse me of money laundering, there are the Thai defamation laws. Do you want to run into that kind of criminal trouble? Also, there are countries where I can easily open a bank account, I know someone who has an account in Mexico. It's really handy for taking advantages of exchange rate variations.

Political Jitters and Falling Numbers Shake Thailand’s Tourism Recovery
Thailand is doing a thorough job of discouraging those of us who want to come spend a few months there. Making my bank account unusable was the last straw.

Thailand Boosts Tourism with Strategic Focus on Quality Markets
So they don't want ordinary middle class guys like me? I was planning on spending a million baht per year or more, but now I'm planning on going elsewhere. Making my bank account unusable was the last straw

Thailand Battles Covid Surge with 12,000 Cases in a Single Day
Given how anti-foreigner the Thai government has become, it wouldn't surprise me. They are incrementally making it more difficult and more troublesome to visit Thailand. How many people are deciding to visit elsewhere because of all the changes and requiring a vaccine certificate would be a significant disincentive.

Foreign Nationals Face Account Bans in Bangkok Bank Crackdown
Yet another change that makes Thailand more of a hassle for regular tourists. Are they trying to chase tourist traffic to other countries? This is after complaining about tourist numbers being down. I was planning on getting a retirement visa this summer, but maybe I should just look for a different country to retire to. I'm sure I would be welcome in The Philippines.

Thai Baht Plummets with US Tariff Blow: 34.50 per Dollar Test Looms
"Plummets"? Last year it was down to around 37:1 THB:USD. This is just anther Trump hating writer. 34.5 is well within normal variation, it's a pity that research is optional in modern journalism.
