    What is it you need explaining exactly? The concept of damage? A tree being uprooted; branches being ripped up; roots and earth being dug up; a building being trashed; Elephants are very large beasts and when they are upset can, and do, kill people. If. you want to see them en-masse- go the Elephant round up in Surin where all the Elephants in Thailand assemble in one place to be counted. Elephants are a protected species in Thailand.

    It was an average TV series with one very good episode and 3 frankly stupid episodes. It was carried by the very talented actor Steven Graham.

    I usually go every year. The most famous one is Yasothon but the biggest is Phanom Phrai but the most unusual on is in Kalasin where the rockets are round.

    I think TAT might have it wrong. There's a building boom in Pattaya, the beaches are full- even the ' secret ones'. I understand TAT are fretting about losing Chinese tourists but the solution to that is to open some casino and and develop some race tracks. Then the Chinese will come flocking back.

    Hot Pot is a favourite with Thais where few farang go. Consequently always worth a visit. They often specialise in fresh seafood which you choose/select yourself then cook at your own table often ' broiling' in a large soup pan with plenty of herbs and greens added.

    BS. The Israelis travel in large groups often demoted platoons of 10 or 12 men and women so they all know each other and are easy and familiar with each other. They have also come from a war zone and shared some negative experiences. They have been this way for decades, since I lived on the Kao San Rd in 1990 at least. They used to have two bars and restaurants where I used to eat when I wanted a changed from the usual places.
