  1. If I remember correctly, there was a scandal involving a branch of that bank that was so accommodating in opening accounts: I also believe, but forgive me if I'm wrong, that some of that bank's staff were arrested.
  2. Just the banking app. or all the account was freezed?
  3. Sorry, but English isn't my native language. But "restricted" means that some functions are possible. So hasn't been frozen?
  4. Just returned from a TTB branch, after speaking with a manager: 1) Facial recognition is a procedure required if you want to transfer more than a certain amount. Those who don't do facial recognition will continue to be able to use ATMs and banking services normally. Facial recognition can be done at any bank branch. 2) If the SIM card is under your name, surname, and DOB, it's not necessary, for the bank, to update your passport with the SIM provider, when you get a new one. The important thing is that the information listed above matches that on the SIM card. Frankly, this last point leaves me a little perplexed, but it's essentially the same thing TTB officials wrote to me on the bank's Messenger. Nothing new for most, but learning it directly from the bank is an added assurance, after all the welcome information you all provided.
  5. Good evening. What happens if a bank account is frozen and you don't meet the requirements to reopen it? Can you request to close it and get the remaining balance, or is that money lost forever? Anyone faced this "nightmare"?
  6. At the moment when you open the account or at any time?
  7. Never understand what the visa status has to do with the bank account.
  8. Perfect answer. It's their body.
  9. I think many people have encountered problems depending on the type of visa they used to open their bank account and how long they opened it. But I could be wrong.
  10. I read that many people are having problems with Bangkok Bank. Which bank do you use, and have you ever had your account freezed and why?
  11. Yesterday, a foreigner approached me asking for money. I was sitting near the Burger King in Jomtien. It's not my custom to give money, knowing it could be used for alcohol, or worse. So I offered to buy him food and drinks. He was really unkempt; I think he was homeless. I wanted to ask him what had happened, but it's none of my business. How can a homeless foreigner survive in Thailand? I don't think he bothers to renew his visa and thus constantly faces arrest. Aside from the temples that provide free food and water, are there organizations that help these people? If I wanted to help, are there any organizations I could contact? Thanks.
  12. If this is a stupid question, forgive me: why was the facial recognition limit set at 50,000 THB? Why not 30,000 or 60,000?
  13. You are right: after few days, the bank answered me about that: "ATM transactions, without the need for face scanning, can still be used as usual."
  14. Thanks for the info: so, in your opinion, if I don't do that face recon, will able to use the ATM or take money out using the book bank after the due date? Now I can use the ATM as usual. Thank you again.
