  1. I am not an expert in all this kind of political stuff. But all I know is that many people from my neighborhood, and surrounding neighborhoods, support Thaksin. The teenagers now get brainwashed by their parents and they speak without having a real view of the things that happen in their country. That's something really sad to see. But the workers, the "low class" hard workers that work at schools, or that have their onw little shops and dont own any company or are not rich, think that Thaksin was someone who helped the poor people, and besides of having his problems, like any politician, he did good things for the country and for them. As a foreigner I cannot give my opinion, I was not here when everything happened. But I can say what I hear from Thai people, and so far, the only things I've heard from him (again, besides the problems and stuff that every person in the goverment have) were good.

  2. Hello everybody! I wonder if the same rule applies for the 4 countries that have a special kind of visa on arrival (argentina, korea, and 2 more countries which I cannot remember). With this special treatment we get (or used to get) 90 days of stay, for unlimited times, just going in and out. Do u have any ideas on this? Did the rules changed for us too? It would be a pity cuz I only need to do this only one more time and I will go back to my country definetely. But I do need 3 more months of stay.

    Thank you very much!

  3. I am a Spanish native speaker from Argentina and I am teaching private Spanish classes on this summer holidays...I live in Saimai area but we can arrange time and place around Central Ramintra or Central Latprao areas...the fee is 400 baht per hour. We follow the lessons from one book that I'm using, which I consider very good. The method of teaching depends on the student, some prefer the fast-and-quick-and-then-I-study-on-my-own method, and some other prefer the classic slow-and-step-by-step method. If you are interested,

please PM me...thank u very much.

  4. I went to garage at central world and I got so dissapointed...they took million of years to bring the hamburgers (so much time that other custumer that was sitting next to us said ''check bill'' before she got the hamburgers, complained with the manager for a while, and then got out the place at once...) I went with 3 thai persons...I ordered a bacon hamburger, it was dry, tasteless and if I didnt read the name from the menu I wouldnt have known that that was supposed to be beacon...my partners ordered some pizza hamburger, which was horrible too, and some spicy meat with something that personaly after tasting it we all got to the conclusion that it smelled like ''sweaty ass''...the hamburgers are so expensive, the waitress was filipino so she couldnt even talk with my thai partners, and we left the place with a bad mood and wondering why we didnt go to Fuji to have some japanese food instead trying this place. I still think Mc donlads is the best option...

  5. Hahaha I feel so bad for the evangelists...seems they dont have the right to be gay and post in thaivisa forums now...because people from other religions take a superior and condescending position? I dont know...but yeah each person is free to put their genitalia wherever they want...and nobody can argue about that...good luck to all of you!

  6. I am teaching all M. 5 from 5/1 to 5/17, I have to admit that some classes (specially 5/4, 5/5, 5/6 and 5/2) are really tough to teach. The method I use and that's been working so far is explain the lesson, make them participate (for example, if the topic is the holidays, ask them which things do they think about when they think about halloween, this, at least in my case, produces the first feed back of the class and makes at least half of the class to get interested) then give them some questions to practice about the topic, and let them work in groups...you just pick one student who will be the representative of that group. When u see the group working, give them a mark, so when they get 3 marks, u give them one point. This works for me in every class (even the bad classes, except rooms 5 and 4, because they are sport classes and we seldom have class) because most of them are afraid to the marks...and if it doesnt work at first, after mid term show them a 0 or a low mark and they will start to get interested for sure...and with the rest (the sabai sabai students, who dont care about anything) just ignore them cuz u are losing ur time....

I hope this can help u, take care...

  7. ''For me, I love my boyfriend so I could not hurt him and perform sexual acts with other individuals. Is it the same for other individuals, straight, gay or bi?''

I completely agree with Onnutr, you couldnt be more right...Having a BF is giving urself completely to that person...because if u dont, why do u call him BF? It's hard to find a honest gay BF in this world, and I know because many of my gay thai friends have been through that already, and they suffered a lot, so now they just do the same thing because they dont believe in anybody anymore...and i think thats so sad. Because if you dont believe in love and u cant trust a partner...whats can u expect for ur future? Just to be alone, and thats all...

  8. Yes I have...I've met him through internet, we've been in a chat only relationships for 10 months (I used to live in a far far away country, in the other side of the world...) but our love could do more than that and I traveled to him. I've been here almost a year already, we live together, his closest relatives know about us (so it's all in family) and some others too. We have gay friends in common here, we go out together always (we really dont like that bullshit of the modern couples like ''i need some time alone'' or ''I need my own space'') of course when we are at home we are not talking / kissing or whatever all the time, but we like to spend time together...he is sweet (in his own way), completely honest, he have told me everything he did and everything he thinks, we have no secrets, he'd been cheated before and he knows how it feels to be cheated, so none of us would ever cheat on the other. We have many plans for the future (traveling, making some bussiness together, etc) we get along very well, we have similar tastes for some things and completely different tastes for other things (so we are a balanced couple). We can comunnicate perfectly, if we have a silly discussion or little fight, it never lasts more than 15 minutes because we cant be upset with each other for too long. So, we just care for each other and want to make the other one happy. We dont think that having sex partners or that kind of stuff is good for a couple, but we respect if somebody does it. We give all to each other completely. Well, that's all, I can consider myself happy and I couldnt ask for nothing more than him. He is my everything. Thanks for reading...

  9. Hey! Thanks for the answers...My way from Argentina to Thailand is with Malaysia Airlines, they departure from Buenos Aires, Argentina, and then they make a stop at South Africa, then another country in africa which i cannot remember, then malaysia (plane change there) and finally BKK (around 28 hours trip). It was the cheapest and faster choice from argentina to here.

Sorry I was wrong about malaysia, In malaysia nobody even checked my tickets or anything, I just made the change of plane with the boarding pass. It was at BKK already when I had to go through inmigration...I think I didn't have to show any tickets as they just grabbed my passport and scan it and gave me the 90 days stamp. But I really want to make sure cuz I don't wanna have any kind of troubles.

Do you know about the recommendation from the school? is this possible?

  10. Hello, I am from argentina, which is one of the 4 countries which doesn't need any kind of Visa to enter Thailand and which their people can enter and leave Thailand as many times as they wish...So my question is, if I have to go back to argentina, can I come back here buying only one way ticket? (the 2 times I went to cambodia for my visa exemption of 90 days, they never asked me to show it) The problem is that I don't know if the border with Cambodia is less strict as inmigration in the airport or they have the same rules. I wouldn't like to come here with a one way ticket and being stuck in the airport or in Malaysia cuz I don't have a ticket back.

If I do need to show my ''back'' ticket, is it possible to have any recommendation letter from the school where I will work to show when I get to the airport saying that I have permission to buy one ticket cuz I will change my visa in BKK? (The option of making my non-B-visa in my country is not possible for time and paperwork reasons).

Thank you very much for your help.

  11. Well, I am from Buenos Aires (which seems this year is the first one) but now I am living in BKK (which seems this year is the third one) and I can compare both cities maybe and tell what good things can make BKK the third best city this year. First, BKK has a lot of department stores, really huge ones and it's full of them, so if you have to go out to watch a movie or to have dinner, just hang out or go shopping you have many places too choose. Maybe other positive thing can be that you have public transportation to go anywhere you want (maybe it's not cheap but well, I think it's ok). Its a very cultural city (in some places only, but it's ok if you want to travel around you have some places to go). Yes, there is a lot of pollution here, but well, that is something that will happen to every city in not a distant future I guess. I don't know about the hotels cuz I stay in a house but seems they are good. There are shops everywhere, and even if some smell really bad, you can't deny they are convinient if you have to buy something in a rush. I don't know too much about the night life here in BKK yet but seems a lot of people have really fun on the weekends. So well I enjoy being here in BKK, usually the traffic is awful but just take it easy and just get up a little early or go to the place you need to go with more time.

Well that was my opinion, I love both Buenos Aires and BKK and I think the choice was well made. Thanks for reading. Bye Bye

  12. I came to thailand with a 90 days VISA exemption, wich means only a stamp in my passport, no need of VISA application in any embassy. 8 days before my 90 days in the kingdom finished, I went to Cambodia, and the following things happened=

1 - Get my stamp out of thailand.

2 - Walk to Cambodia...as I have farang face, the people that ''helps'' the tourist people to make the VISA started annoying me and telling me what to do following me all the way...as I said ''no thanks, I will do it by myself'' he called a Cambodian officer to hold me back (work together = eat together)

3 - They made me sit down before getting to cambodian inmigration, and started asking for money = 1500 baht for VISA issue, 1000 baht for cambodian stamp (in and out). I knew they were robbing me, as I was told the whole process was around 1000 baht only, but against an officer, what could I do more than pay?

4 - Stay there talking with the ''helpers'', waited 20 minutes, fill some paperwork about VISA, given a picture of myself, and got my passport with both stamps (in and out cambodia).

5 - Go to thai inmigration again, give 200 baht tip to the annoying men that keep on following me, give my passport, get another 90 days with visa exemption stamp, enter thailand again.

So, I got 180 days in a 180 days period...no ticket with flight between the next 30 days that I had to show, nothing, no questions, just stamp....What about the rules?

Maybe because argentina has a special treatment with thailand, but as I was told and checked before, NOBODY can stay more than 90 days in a 180 days period with no visa...so what happened? I REALLY REALLY DON'T KNOW...the only thing that I know is that I was lucky enough, and in some days I will be changing my visa to non b, and staying in the land of smiles for at least, some more little time...

Good luck to all of you...

  13. ''...and be able to go to the zoo for the same price as everyone who looks Asian...''

I look like western and I went to the zoo, and paid the same price that everyone who looks like asian...I think it depends on if you know how to read thai numbers or not, if you know what the numbers written in thai means , just pay that number as everybody else...so just learn the 1,2,3 and it's much easier :o

  14. I got a job in a school here in BKK and classes start in 14 may, that day I will go to the school to sign the contract and get the paperwork I need...my questions are:

    1) If I came here in a visa exemption (90 days) and I still have more than 21 days left in my visa, can I change my visa and obtain my WP here in inmigration in BKK?

    2) If I can't, do I need a re-entry permit to go out and in again, or if I have visa exemption and still some days left on it I don't need it and I can come in again without problems?

    3) When I change my visa it is the same than reporting for my 'more than 90 days in Thailand' or I have to report my stay anyway?

    Thank you very much...

  15. I'm writing this post to apologize with the Institution Krirk University and all its members...Some time ago I wrote a post about the TEFL courses and the possibilities of getting a job that Krirk University offered after finish this course. I went to a seminar there and I was kindly offered a part time teaching position there, which I completely misunderstood...In my post I said they just offered me this position because I look like western and not asian, and I was completely wrong. Even if it's a fact that thai students usually prefer to study with western-look teachers, and they mentioned this fact when they offered me the position, I got the idea totally wrong and though that I got the job just by the way I look, thinking about the 'superficial' side of the question. The thing is that they offered me this job because they believe in the capacity of the teachers and in the fact that students learn more with a teacher that doesn't speak thai at all and force the students to completely speak out in english if they wanna get themselves understood. Krirk University is also the first private University of Thailand, so they can be trusted completely about the level of english teaching there and the TEFL courses and job offers, and I can tell this because I've already worked there for some weeks and the teachers are completely proffesional and experienced. So this way I apologize and even if what's written is already written, I regret of what I wrote and want to make things clear, because it was not my intention to harm Krirk University in any way. Maybe I got too much influenced about what I've read in other posts before about schools and Universities, so this taught me a lesson...don't believe in everything you read...Thanks for reading.

  16. Hello to all, I have a simple question to ask you...let's say I would think about getting citizenship and permanent residence in the future, so I want to know if that required 3 uninterrupted years with the same visa, means that I can't get out of the country in that 3 years, or if I have a re-entry permit I can do it anyway...thanks a lot.

  17. Hey chuchay, there was around 29 fillipinos, one guy from Kenya, and me from argentina...the 60 hours TEFL was around 18500 bath (545 usd aprox.) and the 120 hours course (a little better) was around 35500 bath (a little more than 1000 usd) with the first course u get a study visa of 3 months, with the second one u get 10+ months...I finally got a job in a primary school, I will get a little training before start teaching conversation, and then do the TEFL while I'm working, and next year go back to my country for some days, finish my thesis and get this ###### bachelor degree, even if it's not essential they recomend me to get it if i can...I think there won't be other seminars this year but I'm not completely sure, if I know about some I will tell u...the TEFL starts on 6 or 7 april if i'm not wrong...GOOD LUCK!!! Maybe we get to be workmates some day :o

A few people already told me that they need a spanish/english teacher before their upcoming travel to another country, and they would like to lean before going. My question is, can I (or myself) get employed as a teaching tutor and get a VISA/WP? if that's possible, what are my requirements and their requirements to hire me?

    Thank you so much,
