  1. Did my border run to Mukdahan on Sunday morning instead of Monday as I originally planned. Recommended by my visa agent. Business as usual, VE 60 days. But very busy as expected. According to thaivisaservice the new directives will allow two visa-exempt entries per calendar year, regardless of the port of entry (airport or land border). They assume it will remain 60 days per entry. We will know for sure shortly. Also if extensions still possible as before.
  2. The METVs have been great so far, I hope they don't restrict their usage somehow. Up to 9 months possible with some planning.
  3. Indeed, even the border runs might be restricted now. I had one booked for next Monday, 17th (Mukdahan), but my visa agent called and suggested that I do the run on Sunday – the day before the new directives are supposed to be enforced. Hoping for the best.
  4. I have a border run booked for Monday morning at Mukdahan. It will be my second visa exempt this calendar year, so hopefully I will not be denied entry at least. More worrying is that the admitted stay period can be reduced to 30 days. And no hope for any extension. 1. Visa extensions are now limited to two (2) times per calendar year. 2. The first extension grants an additional 30 days of stay. 3. The second extension grants an additional 7 days of stay. --TikTok Visa Services Maybe need to look into getting a retirement visa. Or a soft power DTV.
  5. There's some progress over the years I guess. "Of my city the worst that men will ever say is this: You took little children away from the sun and the dew, And the glimmers that played in the grass under the great sky, And the reckless rain; you put them between walls To work, broken and smothered, for bread and wages, To eat dust in their throats and die empty-hearted For a little handful of pay on a few Saturday nights." -- Carl Sandburg
  6. I took one of the minivans from the Tesco Lotus Onnut parking lot one month ago, not sure if it was Bangkok Buddy, but they drove to Mukdahan. We left 8 PM and back around 6 PM the next day. There were two guys taking turns driving the minivan—while one drove, the other rested—so it felt a bit safer. Don't mind using them again if the Cambodian border remains closed.
