do you plan to buy big expensive things? like tailored suits and dvd players etc?

first time i went i bought this kind of stuff and had to buget for it. second time just lived it up paying for drinks, tourist stuff, etc, that was way easier to budget for

im 23 and live in australia, i recently completed my electro technology degree with 2 years payed work experience. now have accpeted a job in thailand, although its not really anything to do with my work / education history. cant wait to start.

never been married, but pom mee EX fan khon thai who is stressing me out - but thats another story.

i dont smoke or touch drugs and have no criminal history - thank god, as that would ruin so many jobs.

does it have to be on an island? you'd definately find something in that price range on the outskirts of Pattaya.

also, although its definately not the cheapest place, i remember seeing cheap accomodation on sumui in the less crowded / popular beaches. especially if 7/11 is a 'farang type supermarket' for you. this was last year late july / early august to.

In some ways I would guess it depends on the nature of the business. Are you going to sell cotton balls and klenex? If so, I think you are OK. Are you going to open a bar? Well, I'd venture to say you may be in a different crowd of collegues.

dealing drugs in someone else's area will get you shot, but another clothes store in MBK is a different story.

speaking of MBK, anyone know that car store there (selling performance car parts). i herd another similar store opened up there and the original just store used reputation and good prices to ruin it's competition.

thai food is so good, and addictive to. as is japanese and chinese.

i dont like western food, its especially a turn off when you see the results it causes to people - obeisity and diabeaties.

if you ruin someone else's business, your surely going to get some retailation, not just in thailand - any where in the world.

End of Jan, begin of Feb is the best time of year, I agree with Womble here.

i went in feb 2 years ago and this went in august.

both were great, how ever as far as tourists go ive noticed it depends when western coutries have their holidays.

ie: in august there were a lot of euporeans (spainish, italians, germans, etc), but in fed there was a lot of new zealanders, aussies and south africans. im australian btw.

end of the day, sumui is an excellent holiday destination anytime of the year. i would never hesitate to go back.

my gf is full blood thai and i am full blood australian,

we are of different cultures, religion and background, but it never causes problems, she is so beautiful and loving. we just learn about each other, it had never caused a problem ever, just makes things interesting. i love her to death, and she cooks awsome thai food.
